The extra safety of the AWD is worth the little less MPG you'd get from a Honda or Ford. Especially at this time of year.

I found someone in Crawley who came highly recommended. They sand blast, then repair, then three layers of paint then layer of lacquer. I think it was £65+vat a wheel! http://www.wheelworksuk.co.uk/faq.php#howlong I've not used them yet but the guy on the phone was very helpful and gave me the impression they'd do a great job....just can't bring myself to spend 320ish (incl vat) for all four!

I had a bog standard GX for 6 years and it stuck to the road in snow, rain etc....,.just saying :) I personally wouldn't update a thing as its not exactly a rapid car. I'd save the money and get a turbo later if I were you. Each to their own and all that. It's your money Afterall [emoji3]

Humm...I have a Blob that was quieter than my wife's Honda. I swapped for a Prodrive back box (still with all its cats) and now it burbles with the best of them. I think the hatch is a lot quieter, I'm not an expert is it due to the equal length manifold or something?I've never heard a quiet Nur spec!

Yea those are the ones I have now. I don't find them very supportive unfortunately. The bucket seats seem more supportive. I say seem as I've only sat in stationary cars and not driven around in them

Yea thanks mate. I was thinking the buckets would be more comfy. They are quite rare (only 300 cars made) but I do know where to get them. I think it was £425 for them or £250 for STI in the same place. Hence the dithering

They look very similar to my standard Blob WRX seats tbh. Mine don't have airbags in them. I was looking at the Alcantara (?) seats. The Blob STI or the WRX300 World a Rally seats like the ones shown in the link... http://www.subaru-impreza.org/downloads/impreza-wrx300.pdf I like the idea of these as I don't really like the idea of having STI badged seats in a WRX

I was at a second hand parts dealer the other day. We were talking cars and when i mentioned excessive wind noise (snigger) he said that's usually caused by missing grommets at the front. Unfortunately we were in the middle of a completely different conversation at the time and I didn't get the opportunity to ask him what grommets he was referring to. Anyone got any ideas please?
