  1. Cheek of the tw@t. Definitely report it to the police, especially if you have some pain. You never know could go on for months. Should be fast and easy to do and the police will give him some stick id expect.
  2. Hawk is £500 road tax and blob is £280. That and the engine rep of the 2.5 put me off...oh and the fact the front of the hawk looks like a Seat Leon in my opinion [emoji16]
  3. `The second time I watched it a bit more closely and it did look a bad jolt. What was his reason for buggering off?
  4. Interesting you say that. I used to have classic cars (50's, 60's, 70's) and they hated Shell regular petrol. Made them run very roughly. Any other petrol station was fine..,Esso, BP, Texaco etc
  5. Damn, I saw your post of your new headlights and I immediately thought back to my experience a month ago. I took the apart. One I put back together using a hairdryer and the other I decided needed sealant. The one I didn't seal let in condensation...took me about an hour to remove the headlight, hairdryer the headlight bone dry then seal it up the rubber sealant. It's rained and I've washed it a few times now and it's been fine [emoji3]
  6. Thanks for posting that mate. Blimey that is an eye opener. I'm quite anal about that sort of thing but I just wouldn't expect that kind of insanity.
  7. Well done mate [emoji2]
  8. Outback is that? Blimey. Thought the Impreza was a flaff but wasn't that bad! I don't like how everything is attached by what could be described as brittle poppers.
  9. We all do that daahn saaff mate.
  10. It looks expertly done mate. Very impressed with the quality of the finish :) Every time you look at it now though you're ganna see a ginger !Removed! Lovely looking car mate. Where do you live? I'm Reigate just north of Gatwick. My family live in Arundel and Rustington.
  11. It's got a Brazillian [emoji15] Looks great mate...I like Brazillians [emoji2]
  12. Yep...and..., Move to a nicer area and buy a cheap 1.0ltr car and don't get caught speeding etc [emoji12]
  13. Oh ok [emoji2][emoji106] on phone so didn't see it.
  14. I don't think it is. I think that's why the breakers always state the mileage figure when they sell a dash cluster.
  15. I went to see a car in Kent and the fella was 26. He was paying £150 a month I think he said. Gambit, shall we do an insurance sticky? Seems to be a very popular question. I can put something together if you like?
  16. Things that bump up insurance..., Age Lack of years driving. Pass at 38 and first two years will be very expensive. Accident and conviction history High theft area Different insurance companies specialise in different areas. Some steer clear of younger drivers and/or modified cars so pick on of those and they'll just give you a crazy price. A company good for your old man is quite likely not good for you. My insurance is £220 including breakdown and legal but I know the co I use hates anyone under 30. If you have a few of those then cost is going to rocket. Along with the site sponsors you could just bang you details into a comparison site like go compare to see what prices come back.
  17. I bought a GTV new. Loved the look and drive of the car...dropped £15k in three years though so never again!!! Only thing I had go wrong with it was windscreen wipers broke when I left them on one night and it iced over..when I started the car up in the morning...snap!My mate had a 75. He took it to a specialist to have rear wheel arches changed as they were rusted. He picked it up drive a mile down the road and lost the back end. Crashed into a hedge and wrote off the new arches lol :D never let him forget that.
  18. I'm with you in that one David. I never drop in the red. Plus I do 100 miles a day so would be filling up all the time if I just put 20 in

    GYMFARMA

That's great. I laughed all the way through it...my kind of driving :d
  20. I 'followed' a Jag XFR-Sport this evening. I couldnt stop laughing as he couldn't get away from me and eventually pulled over to let me past.... £80k and he couldn't get away from my £4k WRX :D now that was the most fun I've had out of the bedroom/kitchen/hall/bathroom/toilet at work for a long time.
  21. I had cheap Chinese tires on my car when I bought it and had same problem as op. Four wheel slide doing 10mph on a slightly damp road! I used even tyres. The web site has all the official ratings for wet, economy and noise. The Chinese tires I had were on there and were around 8dbs louder that the tires I picked. http://www.event-tyres.co.uk I have Goodyear F1s. I chose them for their wet and DB rating. I think they are great and I've not had one scary moment in the 4 months I've had them now and the 4,000 miles I've done. Imprezas are quite noisy cars and I do still have a fair bit of road noise - better than before. Perhaps I need to use that sound proof paint on my arches or something. I wanted to try Vredesteins (can't remember the model name everyone was raving about) but they didn't do a 215 if I remember in the raved about model.
  22. Ah a bug eye. Nice. No mention of service history. I'd want FSH. Also looking at the wheels and spoiler that's been added I would be interested to see what else has been messed with especially engine wise. High miles, no service history and buggered about with engine Id run a mile [emoji4] Also, when I was looking I found it really tricky to tell condition by pictures and frequently was disappointed with the paper work or condition of the car. So expect to find a shed and if it's not you'll be pleasantly surprised [emoji3]
  23. £3.5k should buy a pretty clean Blob with FSH and 80-100k miles privately. I'd go for as standard as possible. You'd probably be able to get a better nick slightly older bugeye with less miles. Or a very good classic.
  24. Have you come across Cheddar with your Xmas cake? That's my wife's northern family for you...they were all confused when I told them that just ain't normal!P.S. Suffolk and Norfolk are north aren't they [emoji39][emoji57]
