  1. Yes it seems to idle rough raise the revs from 1000 to around 1500 then back down again only raising for a second or two but then randomly do it again after another 10 seconds have past and whenever it happens i hear a clicking noise which is in sync to the rev needle rising and when the needle drops again the clicking will stop.

  2. So i don't know if people have noticed these blank titanium keys on eBay they look exciting and different and 10x better than my original key i have. The seller 100% guarantees me that this key does indeed work once cut and i have seen people online saying they have bought them for my car ( 1994 wrx ) and have worked fine. However most key cutting shops do say that this is the wrong blank key and its to thick which after i have had the key cut is true it is still to thick to fit even though its the right shape.

    Has anyone got one of these already and how do you get it cut to fit?

  3. Looking to buy a new dump valve as my current one I've had on since i bought the car only seems to open and close halfway... tried taking apart and cleaning and using a lot of oil but works for abit then gets stuck again.

    What kinda brands are people getting and do they all sound different? I was looking at getting a forge one to match my new header tank but even then there is a few options.

  4. So i have a 9inch K&N filter to go in thats going to fill double what the current filter does but I'm wanting to build a cold air system before i go for the next dyno run. Does anyone have any examples of a cold air system built on there classic pre facelift like mine. I have a few ideas but there isn't much room available.

  5. Started hearing a strange whining noise when i put my foot down now its been doing it for a few months now and not going away but doesn't seem to have got any louder. Ive thought it could be the clutch going but i had that replaced only a year ago or some say its a sign of a turbo going but I've also had that replaced under a year ago with a healthy second hand TD05.

    The noise speeds up and slows down with the accelerator , any guesses?

  6. Since i bought my car the windows have always been slow to come up pretty much all four although the drivers is bit quicker than the rest, its the same situation with the seatbelt also. Do i need replacement motors? its got to the point now where the windows will barely move.

     

    if i do need parts does anyone know where to get good genuine subaru parts?

  7. Bulldogs- The car is my daily driver and the aim is to stay a high powered road car but still able to have a go on a track if that makes sense. The actually buying or building a engine i cant see happening for another year or two yet so i am just planning way into the future here to make sure I'm going down the right path. My car has done just over 100,000 miles now so i feel i rebuild will be necessary in the future anyway and figured while its all out i may swell upgrade as you say ;) .

    My knowledge of building a engine is very little at the moment so i would be paying a professional to do the job weather that be fitting a newly built engine or rebuilding what i already have. I do understand i need to upgrade various other components along with the engine as you mentioned i would hopefully want to get a 6 speed sti gearbox.

    In terms of pricing i have no idea where to start to budget this till I've settled on buying or rebuilding :S in your personal opinion what would you do? I think the rebuilding would feel like the car isn't dying because the originally engine would be saved and keep it genuine.

     

    aucky- I would be paying professionals for this i don't think i would have the time to attempt it myself wouldn't know where to start at the moment haha!
