  1. In low gear like 1st and 2nd the car seems abit jerky even when you try to be careful with lifting off the clutch. The clutch also feel pretty heavy to press in compared to other cars I've driven. Just wondering if this is normal or something going wrong. I had the clutch and gearbox replaced when i got the car but both were replaced with second hand parts that were in better condition.

  2. Hello I'm changing the engine oil this week and just wanting to make sure i get the best quality and best kind for my car.


    Model: Impreza WRX 
    Year: 1994
    Engine: Done just over 100,00 miles now and hasn't been rebuilt 
    Performance modifications: upgraded fuel pump, front mount intercooler, 440 injectors, K&N induction 9' cone filter, 
    Driving style: Road
    Power: Mapped on simtek 312bhp

  3. So changing the oil in my impreza next week and just want to check I'm using the best possible solution for my car. It is a 94 classic wrx now producing 312bhp. I was going to go for Shell oil but i would like to know exactly what i should go for now its been mapped. The engine has not been rebuilt to my knowledge however i have had the cam belt checked and thats fine and its now done just over one hundred thousand miles. 

     

    Any advice would be great 

  4. When i got my car mapped i was told my Lambda sensor was faulty as in it sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I was told this would be affecting my MPG if this is true i would like to get hold of a replacement. My mapper told me it had to be a genuine subaru part as other tend not to work right.

    Making it more of a challenge mine being and import might need a different one to the uk spec also its pre facelift 1994 wrx

  5. So I'm getting 3 gauges and decided to go with the pro sport evo brand. There are a lot of options to consider and i would just like peoples opinions on which i should go for. There is all these to choose from:

    .boost psi 

    .boost bar

    .oil pressure

    .oil temperature

    .water temperature

    .fuel pressure

    .air/fuel ratio ( narrowband )

    .voltage

     

    so which three should i go for?

  6. So I now have anti lag and launch control working and 2 switches i will probably never use these much at all but they were set up as a favour.

    The anti lag works fine however when using the launch control it feels like the clutch slips as the car with judder a lot before it can build up speed. 

    Is this due to the fact that the car is running 312bhp on just a standard clutch and struggles to put it all down under launch control? It works fine without the launch.

  7. My wrx is mapped with a simtek ecu and seems to be ok for fuel for a subaru but i would love to be able to track my mpg like you could in a modern car. I am just wondering if there is anything you can buy to maybe plug in to read my mpg accurately also as I'm not sure how accurate my fuel dial is.

  8. So I'm starting to think this car is cursed as soon as things start going well something happens. Today i was crashed into very slowly going round a roundabout it has put a large dent in my drivers door and a small dent and scratches in the rear right. I cant simply go through insurance as the car has had so many modifications i would prefer them not having a look at it for the sake of 2 doors. Anyway me and the other person involved have decided not to involve insurance and each pay for our own cars.

    What i really am wanting to know is how much am i looking at down south to repair and paint 2 doors? there is no damage to anywhere else just the 2 doors. I need the car for friday and would really like it repaired by then if anyone knows a decent price to prevent me getting ripped off 

  9. So as my mapper messed up the car first time round to restore my faith in him i was offered free launch control and anti lag fitted to my classic using the simtek ecu. Got it sorted today but would just like a little more information on them. I plan on rarely using them but its a nice feature to have i think as they are both activated by separate switches.

    I understand LC wears gearbox+clutch out but the anti lag is that even worth using on a road car? or is it purely if you want the pops and bangs. I haven't used either of them yet just checking out the sort of wear and strain it would put on a car thats done over 100,000 miles and 22 years old.

  10. So I've noticed when I lifted the bonnet and rev'd it by hand that it seems to be dumping from the air filter? :S 

     

    I have a blitz dump valve fitted and it seems to make the noise alright but if I put my hand over it then it's not dumping properly any ideas?

  11. So got my up pipe and planning fitting it this saturday but have no idea what I'm doing to be honest. Garage was going to charge me £150 which i really don't have i wanna get this done myself.

     

    Anyone got a kinda tutorial on how to do this?

  12. When i rev high just before i get in the red the check engine light will come on then go off straight away when i change up it will happen in any gear. Only really noticed it happen since the remap just wandering if this is normal as its straining the engine or should this be looked at?
