  1. chum glad you took the time to re post from an existing thread as Im not a big forum user so this is something I would have missed :)
  2. Cracking thread - some great solutions there making the best of the space - I was going to mention engine movement working against the turbo support bar on the bulkhead but as you moved it to the block - no need :). Have you considered a bulkhead mounted military type connector for the loom - similar to gobstopper 2 - as it gives a break point that could help fault finding? genuinely enjoyed reading this - thanks for sharing!
  3. Wotcha and welcome :)
  4. shouldnt be an issue?? - looking forward to this one :) PM me the link and I can edit it in
  5. Woctha and welcome Mikey - dont forget your camera ;)
  6. Wotcha and welcome John!!
  7. Wotcha and welcome Matt - great to have you onboard
  8. Wotcha and welcome Dave - we have a recent discussion thread on the differences, http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/14414-impreza-wrxs/
  9. Wotcha and welcome - there are a couple of project threads if you want some ideas - Savage has put some considerable spanner time into his build and its not too shabby, brutal dyno run ;) http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/3094-a-few-pics-of-my-project-so-far/page-13
  10. Must admit I don't like the later styling - prefer the look of yours Tom
  11. Think I voted but not a big facebook user so might have got it wrong...
  12. I have used them in cars and bikes with no issues other than being suseptable to any dirt or engine running rich as the tips are so fine - If your car is running fine there will be no issues but problems will manifest themselves quicker through dirty plugs, which may not be a bad thing as you identify issues earlier. The one plug I did find has made a noticable difference to fuel consumption and engine feel over standard plugs are the Bosch super 4's - not tried the platinum version yet though
  13. Will this not work?? http://www.amazon.co.uk/57-0646-Performance-Subaru-Impreza-123Pk/dp/B000NKB2B8 or look at something like this plus some additional diy plumbing http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_66&products_id=1296 http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_66&products_id=2031
  14. that has made me smile - very funny :D
  15. Dependant on the model you will certainly retain value - I think the oil burners are the desirable items - Was sat next to a chap on a flight couple of weeks back who owned a 10 year old 911 had done a recent engine rebuild due to some liner issues they suffer with (oil starvation on the one pot if I remember - sound familiar...) anyhow it cost him 8k to get done properly and the chap who did the work sorted the oil ways to ensure it wont happen again - the car itself is now apparently way better than before and will last the chap for decades now - regular maintenance and changing bushes etc as they wear out. So not a bad choice if that is your thing - the mantle you will bear from the image perspective is similar I suppose to owning an Impreza and being likened to a chav.
  16. Mpg is a giggle for the sti 330 we managed 28 -30 using vpower and selecting sport mode ( thanks to Salsa's research) but if you drive in a more spirited manner in sport # it will drop to 18-19 which of course is offset by the grin ☺
  17. Wotcha and welcome!!
  18. I dont suppose you have any pics do you Mr B??
  19. :D agreed - just about to invest in some Angelwax Desirable so will see how I get on with that
  20. I looked at the differences when going for my hatch. We have a few hatch owners so pipe up if I am wrong here chaps / chapesses'. Bottom line both are great cars. Sti can be taken to 330 ish bhp quite easily. It also bas has 6 speed box bigger hubs for better heat dissapation away from brakes and bearings. Hubs are also alloy. Dont think the wrx has dccd? Probably some other things style wise quad pipe over single exit...wings etc
  21. Dot 5.1 will give higher tolerance to heat and any moisture ingress. Used the shell product for years on bikes and cars would recommend it
  22. Agree with Stants think paint will help but you may need to invest in skirts and rear valence as will as it does sit low?
  23. Wotcha and welcome - as said feel free to get stuck in and share some photos ;)
  24. Had a gearbox let go on my nissan years ago on way back from Newcastle to Helensburgh - drove from Carlisle onwards with 4th gear only - was lucky it didnt grind to a halt but I broke a shaft so no grinding
  25. hmmm wonder if all this applies to my newly aquired 2008 2.0 auto rx? B)
