  1. wotcha and welcome - you have found yourself a lovely motor - proof that it pays to look about and wait for the right one to come up
  2. Wotcha and welcome 8k will get you a nice Hawkeye a higher mileage sharkeye or some very tidy classics, blobeyes or bugeyes so the choice is yours.
  3. Wotcha and welcome - your own thread will hopefully generate more answers / responses ;)
  4. looks good - do like that blue - wheels will refurb no problem ooorrr maybe a new set of rims ;)
  5. Wotcha and welcome - cant help you myself but hopefully someone will be along to get you sorted
  6. no you can have a wrx or an sti and both have turbo's - best bet have a look about and then post questions on here about the particular vehicle you have found
  7. Wotcha - you may get a better response with prices and photos
  8. someone put in the time on that one
  9. the 330 has a different map to the original STI hatch - this should still work just wont be as powerful but that is not what you are after so should be fine - an early type UK will be throwing out similar power (a proper one that has had the prodrive mods)
  10. Done - fifth gear this week just said to look out for rust on rear wheel arches - we do have a buyers guide pinned also http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/ feel free to browse the forum - stacks of info and ideas - we are fortunate that a couple of members have shared some great builds (savage, fonzey, rollomite on a budget plus others ) also there is a peach of a wrx in the for sale section which I would gladly have on my drive should funds allow http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6005-1997-wrx-sti-type-r-53k-original-miles-for-sale/
  11. give RA developments a call - they might be able to help with an aftermarket item and they are local to you http://www.ra-motorsport.co.uk/ RA Motorsport Developments Unit 8 Lochty Ind Est, Almondbank, Perth, PH1 3NP 01738 583064 info@ramotorsport.co.uk
  12. some here to browse http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/New_Age__01-07__-t.html http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_53
  13. I think it is more likely to be the wiring - ECUs tend to be generally robust - unless it has been messed with
  14. looking good there chum - thats a bold orange but really contrasts with the silver
  15. there is a quote hanging around the web there is not such thing as a bad engine tune but there is such a thing as a bad map to expand on that - you could drop 10k on the dogs danglies engine full forged etc but you stick a map on it that does not suit and it will go pop. do any mods on your own engine as you go that you would like to do but match your ECU along with it, that way your investment is more likely to get the results you want - best not to try and take shortcuts for the sake of £500. tell you what though £800 will get you a peachy engine from Savage, match the ECU to that and you will be in a happy place
  16. Wotcha and welcome - echo Bang - dont be shy get the camera out ;)
