  1. thats great to hear - keep at it chum!!
  2. the 330 has a different map to the original STI hatch - this should still work just wont be as powerful but that is not what you are after so should be fine - an early type UK will be throwing out similar power (a proper one that has had the prodrive mods)

  4. Done - fifth gear this week just said to look out for rust on rear wheel arches - we do have a buyers guide pinned also http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/ feel free to browse the forum - stacks of info and ideas - we are fortunate that a couple of members have shared some great builds (savage, fonzey, rollomite on a budget plus others ) also there is a peach of a wrx in the for sale section which I would gladly have on my drive should funds allow http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6005-1997-wrx-sti-type-r-53k-original-miles-for-sale/
  5. give RA developments a call - they might be able to help with an aftermarket item and they are local to you http://www.ra-motorsport.co.uk/ RA Motorsport Developments Unit 8 Lochty Ind Est, Almondbank, Perth, PH1 3NP 01738 583064 [email protected]

  7. some here to browse http://www.scoobyparts.com/acatalog/New_Age__01-07__-t.html http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=24_53
  8. I think it is more likely to be the wiring - ECUs tend to be generally robust - unless it has been messed with
  9. there is a quote hanging around the web there is not such thing as a bad engine tune but there is such a thing as a bad map to expand on that - you could drop 10k on the dogs danglies engine full forged etc but you stick a map on it that does not suit and it will go pop. do any mods on your own engine as you go that you would like to do but match your ECU along with it, that way your investment is more likely to get the results you want - best not to try and take shortcuts for the sake of £500. tell you what though £800 will get you a peachy engine from Savage, match the ECU to that and you will be in a happy place
  10. Wotcha and welcome - echo Bang - dont be shy get the camera out ;)
  11. Wotcha and welcome - sound advice above
  12. cant remember off top of head - it has been posted before somewhere on here - will do some digging

  15. Jay762 replied to hilli182's topic in Car Shows
the third one looks good though
  16. great keep us posted ;)
  17. we do prefer the warm hugs approach on this forum :)
  18. the thickness of the oil shouldn't be related to loss - it will however help (as will slick 50) with a noisier engine attributed to wear through higher miles, you mention burning oil but there is no smoke or deposits in the exhaust? It must be going somewhere - I would do more checks for smoke and keep an eye on the coolant - has the engine ever been rebuilt?
  19. it is but unfortunately the chap is being forced to break it so if your interested I would contact him asap before bits go individually
  20. he is trying it on - sold as seen - small claims court fine - let him take you there, you know what model the part is off it was sold used but in working order he doesnt have a leg to stand on
  21. stainless brake hoses - always a good mod with cars over 5 years old
  22. oooh drift buckets going in?? ;)
  23. amount of time I spent spraying the dizzy with wd40 in the wet conditions driving back and forth to Scotland - was a regular at Halfords in those days - only Vauxhall decided the best place to mount it was right at the front of the engine just above the sump - muppets
