Hi Doris - welcome to the site It is as Gambit says behind the glove box draw, open the draw to its fullest and you can see there is a small retaining bar on the left side - this will just pull off allowing the draw to drop slightly more, it will now be stopped by a plastic post on both sides, there is enough flex in the draw to pull them in wards and allow the draw to drop further its a bit tricky to get them both in and allow the draw to drop all the way. When all the way down the draw will pull away from its hinge at the bottom. The filter is now right in front of you and reminded me of looking at a video cassette, just pull the existing filter out and replace with the new. If you are still stuck I can get some photos tomorrow.

liking the grill - it is an improvement, black angel eyes would be a good choice methinks. question... possible discussion point - does the number plate position affect the airflow into the rad and intercooler, is there a noticeable difference on the temp guage or would it be better to get a bonnet sticker type? I only ask as the front spoilers I am looking at don't really accommodate a number plate that well and it will over hang the intake as well

I spend money on parts with two things in mind - how will I be using it and will it give me peace of mind There is nothing wrong with halfords and europarts kit and they do the job for a lot of people however you do own a particularly choice piece of kit (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/subaru/impreza/used-subaru-impreza-p1-4wd-2dr-oldham-fpa-201142423014485) I believe Subaru quoted the P1 as having 280BHP which is not a small amount of power if things start to fail.
