Did this engine have red/orange cam belt covers on it ?

From the rear of my hawkeye mate, I presume they would be fine for yours if you have the c shape plastic ones

I dont know tbh, do we reckon they run every single engine on the bench or just a few to meet QC, maybe they do some sort of minor running in procedure on each one before actually fitting them, although I am pretty sure you use crap oil to run in with, I wonder if the car manufacturers actually trust the public enough to put the cars out with inferior oil in or wether they think, peasants will abuse the car so less of two evils, send them out with fully synth ? Conspiracy theory....

But did you not say it was fully synth from the factory, in which case it would have done the first 1000 miles with fully synth in it ?

I would go with it mate, a road map is just as good if not better than an rr map I think, in hindsight I should have had a road map when I got mine done or at least have had the car finished off on the road after the rr, if the guy has got all the gear you should be fine I'm sure he should be wearing det cans for the map, so a good afr and no det and most of all good driveability is what your after

yeah I know lol, there are actual flash maps as opposed to flashing the ecu, ironically the place that did mine (prior to me owning it) was actually called "flash remapping" and it really was a generic map, load of tosh, even messed with the drive by wire map to make it "seem" quicker/snappier

I didn't think you could run a car in on fully synth, too good an oil, glazes the bores leading to high oil consumption and tad lower compression ?

Yer, flash remaps are BAD, wanna see a picture of my piston or what was left of it lol

Mornin guys n gals, just wondering if anyone has a good condition td04 knocking about cheap for a 07 hawkeye, thinking of changing mine out due to shaft play
