  1. I would like to go 1000bhp but I have to be realistic 🙄 I'm not made of money so I have to set myself a target/limit, but in saying that not worth building something that'll just handle 350bhp, I want a car that has a good bit of power for not an extreme amount of money as the credit cards gonna take a broadside to do it lol and I want it to be reliable, would be nice to factor in a bit of leeway for reliability or for a bit of extra power one day if funds allowed, but tbh I can get myself in the mire with 277bhp so 350/60 as tidge says would surely be enough, I don't really have funds for stronger gearboxes so I was thinkin around the 350 mark would be OK, and doable mo ey wise, would have to do clutch for sure, the wife is cool with it, soon as I've paid the card up I can abuse it for the engine 😜
  2. Yeah did hear that stants, I hear maybe that you can go rag the **** off it and bring it back hot and you have a better chance, but then we are probably back to the tame mot tester again
  3. Just thought i would get a thread going to see what people have had go wrong with there engines what car, what size engine, what failed (and if anybody can think of anything else needs askin then post that up too)
  4. Haha, maybe it's just me, I don't even have the stereo on so I can listen to all the strange noises lol lovely cars tbh, but it's defo something to be aware of
  5. Ok lads n lasses, can you tell me what I would need to do to a 2.5 wrx lump to make a good strong and safe 350bhp, what turbo, piston and/or rods, bearings injectors ? etc etc, am looking at building one hopefully next year to chuck in my hawkeye
  6. Almost certainly unless you have a tame mot tester or maybe a sports cat
  7. Haha, I didn't even realise it was an old thread, I thought you were away now lol lol
  8. Oh for petes sake, you've told us your abroad in every post and nobody has asked where, so come on then, spill the beans 😜 (Well, maybe not every post..... Lol)
  9. If you do it online you can add mods, but I couldn't add all mine as there wasn't any provision for some of them, so I added a few to gauge an idea of price (I hate talking on the phone too) and I think it came back at £580, then got a message saying that I will get it cheaper if I ring up, so I did and listed all mods and got it cheaper, well worth doing, I got a really happy fella when I rang back to actually buy the insurance, not the scary lady lol
  10. Well if ya do need a resistor I got a few
  11. Get a late blobeye with the 2.0 engine, 2.5 Hawk and onwards engines have issues that make driving a bit of a paranoid affair 😳
