  9. No problem buddy, i would say though its all about personal choice i know a few folk that have switchable maps so really its what ever takes your fancy ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  10. Welcome to scotland mate Glasgow is a wonderful city with great people with a great sense of humour ๐Ÿ˜‰, i would say head up to loch lowmond and the trossachs as there's some cracking roads and scenery and its not that far outside of Glasgow also if you fancy a run even further up north head up the north west by fort William theres a place called applecross and theres only two ways to get there a boring A road or a tight twisty mountain road with tunnels through the hills but take a couple of jerry cans as theres no petrol stations out that way, scoobs sound awesome through the tunnels ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  11. Ah sorry for the misunderstanding tidgy i thought it was called live mapping thats my inexperience showing yet again but i'm learning, i will know for the future now, cheers buddy ๐Ÿ‘
  12. I'm relatively inexperienced when it comes to this and to the cobb access port however i've just had my classic mapped and when speaking to the mapper before hand i had two choices go with an esl board or get a new standalone ecu with the latter able to have various maps so you can switch between high and low boost e.g have a stock map then when the feeling takes you you can switch to the custom high boost map also the standalone came with motorsport features like antilag and launch control, i went for the esl because i really don't need those features and the esl doesn't have switchable maps again something i don't need as long as my engine is running safe i'm happy, i would say though get a custom map done specifically to you're engine instead of some generic map ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  13. Really good to see it back bud ๐Ÿ‘, its looking brilliant they've done a fantastic job ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  14. Thanks guys, i picked it up last night as had to leave it with the mapper on Tuesday night as the ecu that got sent from esl seemed to be faulty it kept losing connection with his laptop and he wasn't happy to do the mapping session so he got another ecu sent, @Tidgy i haven't got a power graph as been live mapped so not sure how he knew what power its making unless it shows him on his laptop ( this is the first time i've had a motor mapped) or he was just trying to make me feel good after all the stress i've been through having to leave the car with him, however it does pull really well in all gears and it's never missed a beat since i got it back and i've already been through a tank of vpower, I'll have a look out to see if there's any rolling road sessions going on around my area and get the scoob on the dyno and see how its going but i do trust the guy especially with what was sitting in his workshop being prepped for mapping and he had done over 60miles in my car during mapping There was six of them sitting getting prepared for fast road. So all in all i'm really happy with whats been done . @savage bulldogs i did try the old its fathers day trick but got told the kids don't love me that much haha ๐Ÿ˜‚, the little ungrateful buggars never even got me a card I'll remember that when they are wanting new stuff lol ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  15. It seems to be something to do with IG off detected whilst driving whatever that is, sorry i can't be of any help but that's why it will be going into limp mode, i would try subaru and see if they can shed any light on it ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  16. Thats my classic v1 been mapped at last after all my time and effort over the winter pulling the engine and replacing head gaskets and other stuff, got live mapped on esl and it managed 302.6bhp at 1.25 bar mapper said only thing holding it back is the intercooler as when trying to run higher boost it was starting to knock so had to peg it back, i'm chuffed as f**k and so is the wee man ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  17. Welcome to the club mate nice looking motor you have there ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  18. I had the same problem with the uprated coilpack i just fitted to my classic and i used a couple of little cable ties to hold the plug securely onto the coil, i know its a bit of a jungle repair but it seems to be holding ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  19. Nice one mate glad to hear you've got to the bottom of it and i feel your pain i've not had the burble and boost for a while now as had the engine out but getting mapped on tuesday so getting pretty excited i can just about taste the v-power ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‰
  20. No problem dude, the one at work is a sealey one and for 30 bucks it does what it says on the tin ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  21. It depends on how much you want to spend and how far you want it to go in to it as ones that read abs/airbag faults and resets are more expensive than ones that'l only read the engine/gearbox codes although depending on what one you get you can upgrade them for free online. We have a cheapy 30quid one at work for when the laptop and tablet are getting used or if we in a hurry, that just reads the engine management faults and to be honest we can't fault it for what it is and how much it cost its always been spot on with codes and diagnosis, amazon have a bit of a selection ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  22. Thats a bit s**t mate, do you have an obd tool to plug in and read the eml fault as that may give you a code which will tell you more specifically what the fault is ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  23. That's looking proper mint mate been really good to see it progress in such a shortish time ๐Ÿ‘, glad to hear you and the kids are getting treatment and getting better, once you hear that burble and feel the boost i'm sure all you're aches and pains will disappear ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
  24. Not a problem bud ๐Ÿ‘ and i never thought you were coming across in a negative way its understandable to be weary of places like ebay theres loads of dodgy folks out there ๐Ÿ˜‰
  25. You'll be surprised of the quality parts on the bay, just recently i got a set of used newage coilpacks as an upgrade for my classic and they have been perfect so far also the brand new ones are reasonably priced and seem to be of OE standard so could still be wortha look also check out importcarparts ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘
