New STI??
You could always get a JDM spec car from Litchfield. I am starting to love the car except for the weedy rear spoiler, why not big fat one? I'd buy it if I had the money.

Private Cars Cannot Be Sold With Road Tax From October 2014
My issue would be when buying a car. What if you can't access the internet, you'll have to ring them up and wait around for ages to buy tax. If it's a weekend or out of office hours you can't drive the car. To get a full refund you'd have to sorn the car at the end of the month before you sell it, then the punter can't take the car for a test drive, you can't use it at all. Who is going to do that? The DVLA will make millions from middle of the month refunds.

quick shift
This got me thinking and I'm looking at a kart boys quickshift kit from the states for £155 shipped. This includes better quality bushes for under the car as well. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Kartboy-Short-Shifter-and-Bushing-Combo-Subaru-STI-2004-2011

quick shift

New Member from Hersham (In Need of Assistance)
If you're not confident to take it on yourself I would give one of the Subaru specialists in surrey a call, Surrey Subaru Specalists or TFS racing If have used both of them myself and would recommend them. Dan at Surrey Subaru specialist is also able to provide a mobile service. Both also come highly recomended by the Surrey Scoobies Club, they do work for an awful lot of members.

cluster swap
It's a shame Lockwood have stopped doing replacement dials themselves? I had Lockwood silver dials in my classic and they changed the look completely. Less hassle and easier than swapping the cluster out.

New STI??
The new STI looks a bit like this... An Evo X? ...will make its official debut at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show on the 14th January.

Subaru XV D SE Picked up today (21-12-13)
I like them and think the back end looks very similar to the hatch. Just a bit beefier. Wheels don't do anything for me any would be the 1st thing to go. Look to much like the wheels of a hot wheels car.

- new mudflaps....but
Ah I'm with you now :D Never had the rigid type of flaps always had the rally type.- new mudflaps....but
The rally flaps came with a metal bracket. If I remember rightly they fixed to a piece of the body work at the back inside corner of the wheel well. Your flaps look quite rigid, if you offer them up does the inside corner of the flap meet the body work anywhere? Have a look at this page. http://www.oakos.com/product_docs/RA-MF1.pdf There's is a pic near the bottom showing the fixing point for the inner rear wheel arch.- new mudflaps....but
I had some rally mud flaps and the were fixed to the car through the 3 holes in the rear bumper. Seems logical that you would use the fixing points as well.- Newbie needs advice
I used red pre mixed antifreeze , not sure on the amount you need though. Also forgot to mention when refilling the system make sure the cabin heater is on and set to max heat.- Newbie needs advice
As far as I know there shouldn't be a rad cap. The filling is all done via the header tank. Sounds like it's got either a small pin hole leak or an air lock somewhere. Get it upto temp and check the rad for any leaks and the hoses for any leaks. These tend to only show when the system is upto pressure. If no leaks the drain the system and refill it same as if you replace the rad. My top tip is to refill the system is remove the top hose from the rad and fill the system up through the top hose. Also take the cap of the header tank. (It's easy to create air locks filling via the header tank) When you have filled the water upto the top of the top hose, start the car and wait for the thermostat to open (water will disappear from the top hose and should be now be pumped out the top of the rad). With engine running reconnect the top hose and top the system up via the header tank. Only fill the car with the recommended amount of coolant the header tank doesn't need to be full of water as it's really just an expansion tank and only fills up when the system in upto temp and under pressure. This should clear the airlock. Bear in mind when the thermostat opens the water will be hot! Having just mentioned the thermostat this could also be at fault, I had one that wasn't opening fully and was causing overheating issues. You can tell if the thermostat isn't working as the water will be not pumped around the engine and coming out the outlet at the top of the rad.- New to the forum. from West London.
Yeah that's a mate down the road from me. I've got a black version of the same hatchback STI.- New to the forum. from West London.
