  2. Saw this posted elsewhere thought I'd share it. http://wonderfulengineering.com/large-collection-of-hd-subaru-wallpapers-subaru-background-images-for-download/ These are the wheels I was intending to buy but at £2700 bit out my price range.
  3. Hey Jamie, the Surrey club meets every second Sunday of the month the next one is due on the 9th of Feb. It has with the weather literally been a wash out recently and only a few hardy soles are attending as the guys from further out in the sticks have been flooded out. The venue is the Fairmile in Cobham. If you check the South east regional meets http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/forum/46-south-east-regional-meets/ for past meets all the info is there. I'll post nearer the time. We welcome anyone with a Subaru of any type so hope to see you at a meet sometime.
  4. I'm cluess, tbh I think we're just amusing ourselves.
  5. Also Recaro seats and a 330S badge and factory fit Sat Nav.
  6. The ring land failure on a friends car may be down to low oil levels, rather than hard driving. As Jay has said pretty much said everything, I will just say that I love my hb after owning a classic 95 WRX for 11 years moving upto the the 08 was a revelation a much more refind drive. The ride isn't harsh at all on normal roads, I regualy take speed bumps with out coming to a stop. it doesn't sound any where near as harsh as the Civic. Again like Jay I am looking to get some springs and firm the ride up a bit. Maybe some urathane bushes aswell. As for the ring land failure, as long as the car has got a full serivce history and you get it checked out by Jolly Green Monster or Andy you should have no issues, if you keep the engine standard or don't go for Stupid power. My impression is It was mainly modded cars running 400+ bhp that suffered it. The only complaints about the car I have are: The stupid Central Locking. The cargo cover creaks and groans. I had to use some foam to stop it making noise. The ugly huge Forrester wing mirrors. Not that much really, they are great cars and can easily return upto 22mpg urban if you drive like a granny. I average 18-19mpg urban, driving like normal with a few spirited squirts every now and then. When you go for a test drive make sure you try the car in S# theres a little dial by the hand brake turn that to S# and hold on tight. if that doesnt put a grin on your face then i don't know what will.
  7. Unless a dirty lap counts I got no hope of setting a reasonable time. Maybe if I did it at 40mph all the way I could do a clean lap I'll still give it a bash, Is this transit shareable then?
  8. You may have heard on the news of the crash near the Mclaren Factory in Surrey, involving a Subaru. Unfortunately the driver and passenger both died at the scene. http://news.sky.com/story/1203277/mclaren-pair-killed-in-crash-near-f1-base The owner Ollie Burton was a member of Surrey Scoobies olliebourton335, the passenger Darren Hayes was a promising young biker too and just about to start his race season with DH Racing. Both worked at the Mclaren factory. Exact details of the accident are unknown at the moment. Our thoughts and prayers go to Ollie's and Darren's family. I was chatting to Ollie the other day on the Surrey Scoobies forum about dashboard lights. Ollie May your light never dim.
  9. When I came to overtake bosh I think he'd lost it and was swerving all over the road, I had to swerve to avoid him just at the breaking point to a corner, lost it again and never got back, too much damage.
  10. Good breakers based in the south east. South East Imprezas 07891129485 Breaking Classic Impreza Turbos

  13. wow I actually look pretty competitive in that clip :) if its normal form, I'll crash on the next corner
  14. I think so, it is an offical PPP, but that doesn't gtee it.
  15. Not mine though. A mate has just suffered ringland failure and was wondering if hew cant Subaru UK to sort it Free of Charge or wiull he have get this sorted himself? The car is Standard and a genuine Type UK.
  16. Haha teaching granny to suck eggs
  17. Welcome to the club. Check the spoiler, they bolt through the deck lid (beetle fan :) ) and can leak through there. Check you rubbers and how well they seal around the boot itself. A way to test to see where the leak is, is to climb inside the boot, shut it and the missus to spray the boot with a hose or jet wash, pretty sure she won't mind doing this :D. Use a torch inside the boot to look for leaks. Then hope the missus lets you back out . Also check the inner rear wing where the jack is for water, and the opposite side behind the boot liner, mine pooled in there and I had to get a pump from halfrauds to suck it out. Turned out the boot lid was warped after some one rear ended me, and the body shop missed it as it still fit when they reassembled. Won't be using them again.
  18. Is it when you turn the ignition on. Or when you start the engine? If it just ignition then I'd say fuel lines. Can't see why water would start flowing round the heater matrix until the engine is running and the water pump working.
  19. I wrote my classic off a few years ago in a head on crash and bought it back as a Cat D. it had bent the front ns chassis leg, got a bulkhead from Grade A Subaru and repaired the car for a fraction of the engineers estimate. Worth doing if you have the car checked out properly when fixed.
