  1. Yours looked really nice on the car last night, set it off well.
  2. Put more oil in :-) bought a load of fresh clips for the undertray and scoop fixings
  3. Hello, 8k should get you a very nice wagon, Theres a buying guide somewhere on here can't remember where. As for buying i'd go for, if it's had mods done id be wanting paperwork same with the ' remap' claim If they have been done well should have no problems and may be better for fuel economy. Stantard stuff like reg servicing is a must. Servicing used to be short intervals but newer cars go a bit longer 7k i think. Although most of us change the oil every 4-5k. Look for one thats had a recent belt change or account for that if it's not been done and due, Don't be put off by main dealer prices as there are lost of very good independants which will do a better and cheaper job. I take it your lookong at impreza's ? I'll let someone else answer the ride question on that one. I stand corrected but cas registered afer may/june 06 may fall into the £450 tax bracket :O Anyway welcome and feel free to ask as many questions no matter how trivial or daft they may be.
  4. F***ing freezing stood on that hilside wind blowing right in your face. Thanks to dave and fonzey, didn't realise you were traveling that far ! Sorry it wasn't the greatest night, 1st one teething problems and all. Some nice cars there and i managed to find out who i followed all the way from leeds to pudsey last monday, I'm still tempeted by the wheels :-)
  5. Haha after the L reading i did wonder what was going on, but after parking on level ground last night it was better. I was seeing the same idle pressure as i did before the change so i wasn't too bothered just glad it's ok. Still only taken just over 4L though
  6. Sit rep ! All good left oil over night half way between the two marks. Can breathe easy now :-)
  7. Good to see/meet everyone pub trip went a bit !Removed! up but never mind bigger and better things to come
  8. Don't tell me that ! Ran car for 15 let cool oil at top, drove to meet checked oil and near E mark ! Put another slug in drove to pub left it ten mins checked again and was at full mark. Just got home now will re check in the morning . Hop no damage has been done
  9. Traffic in leeds mental done a mile n 25 mins
  10. Rough man maths says thats 4.2 us quarts which is spot according to us specs, i've put in 4 and the level is now sitting on the full mark. Prob about right as i don't bother extracting with a suction pump. Prob around half a litre sat in the block. I'll just keep an eye on it tonight
  11. Level finally came up after adding that now can't get an accurate read haha. Still fired up gonna leave her for another 10 mins and see what it's like. Was worried a bit for a moment
  12. 4.5L left for nearly an hour just added another couple hunderd ml
  13. Just done a change and brimmed filter then added nearly 4L waited for it to drain and settle only to find the dipstick is bone dry ? Before anyone asks the sump plug is in amd the filter is done up, Will i have to put nearly the whole 4.5L in or should i start he up ? Then check in ten mins
  14. Haha not finished yet, i'm at work so drained & replaced filter just about to fill up. Spoke to martin as sheff subaru and he said do the dry crank. Told me an easier way of pulling the 2 main 30amp fuses in the main box. So i'll gonna go check the levels now i'm on me dinner and crank her :-)
  15. I should hope so ash, leaving out the milk should make things easier it's only a three step process then :-) Or have you neen hiding week tea all your life and blaming it on the milk ? Haha. If we can space the two meets a bit further apart i could get to both most months
  16. Thats what you get from living out in the middle of east bumf**k :-) Still you aee on 1st name terms with all the local animals. I'm supprised there aren't more people from your neck of the woods to be fair ?
  17. don't worry we don't all look like gambits profile pic :-) I may have to come straight from work so if i look like a scruffy **** apologies now
  18. I'd leave it and wait, maybe connect a boost gauge see what your pulling. Chances are you'll want one after the remap anyway, Like sav says if your seeing normal boost there it's pretty good guess the ecu's stock. Sorry bazza, the open source question was to ash as he as a later car. Its mapping software thats not applicable to our cars
  19. Did you get anywhere with those chaps regarding your hose ?
  20. Is yours open source ? It's the cost of the board thats bunping the price up for us :-(
  21. If this link works http://www.enduringsolutions.com/ECUGuide.pdf should see a list of compatable ecu's
  22. Yes he'll provide and fit the esl board and do a 'live map' for that price
  23. Yep thats exactly what i've been quoted from him to do mine, Where abouts are you located ? He said may be cheaper if i went to him. Or may be worth putting feelers out for a couple of people to get together and get a group discount if available ?
  24. stants

    brands of oil

Thanks for the offer, my brother has one and somone at work has too so i'm never short. I could do with a load of nappies :-D I guess it's not really an issue, maybe for a fresh engine or one been standing for 6months i can see the upside but i'll chance it.
