how about looking at an "all season" tyre like Michelin cross-climate or Uniroyal all-season...best of both worlds. in the non-premium market i've been impressed with Falkens on 2 other cars. I inherited Toyo Proxes on my outback which seem pretty reasonable but don't get a good write up... this'll be my first winter with them so i can't comment yet on their performance when it gets colder/wetter. afaik Yokohamas were OEM... i ran yokos on my Mitsu Outlander with good results. sorry can't comment on seats and as for bulbs i've only ever changed side lights to LED.

i'm not in the market as just bought a black one like yours (but '07) but i'd be interested to know which/what cat back SS exhaust you went for ?? mine needs doing and i'd ideally like some advice as to which system is most suitable ...i'm not looking to go "loud" but easier breathing and a slightly more rorty note without any motorway drone would be good ! any opinions gratefully received...

as a matter of interest do you have a set of carpet overmats in yours ? i ask coz mine are missing/sold/worn out/who knows ..but i assume there would have been a set when new (for 30K i'd expect some !!)... anyhoo a set for Outback in ivory is hard to come by, but are available for Legacy.. i have no idea if/or there is any difference between the floorplans between the models but apparently there is ? ? i figure if i can try a leggy set via an owner it'll save having to send a set back if i purchase..and they ARE wrong ... **puzzled** any experts with definitive answer ?

tbh i'm amazed how free-revving the H6 is but talking of noise mine seems fairly restrained as is on orig' exhaust...(on the way out) the engine certainly starts singing above 4K and i'm thinking a nice SS set of pipes will help. Not that i want to go "loud" but it deffo needs a bit more sound and easier breathing. like you i'm still finding out what all the buttons/menus actually do !! enjoy your first long run, the overtaking possibilities are addictive !! hope to see you around

hi, i recently bought a 2007 3.0 RN with the paddles, but it also has the 6cd changer in dash...so i expect there are some odd ones out there which crossed over from 06>07 ? i actually love the paddle shift or using the stick manually as it allows me to choose when to shift up/down when i'm pressing on....but as you say the auto mode is plenty good enough, espesh in sport ! as for price, i looked around for almost a year and found 2/3 at the top end (7K) and good ones averaging around 4-5K.... regarding mpg i'm currently averaging 23/4 locally but saw over 30+ on a recent run up the A5. (that's on Shell V-power juice) although mine is near mint with very low miles, the exhaust is deffo on the way out, hopefully to be replaced withh SS in the near future, other than that the only thing that needs sorting is a rattle/donk from the back end on rough roads/potholes etc, which i think is part exhaust and/or maybe worn ant-roll bar mountings/links...not too shabby for a 10 year old !! (so far so good anyhow)

Thanks Nate, looks like we're a pretty rare sight around wat/st'alb' , not seen either leggy or outback since i got mine...i'll keep an eye out for you !! i'm also looking to go stainless on the cat-back exhaust, as my original is getting a bit past it but not sure who to use yet. cheers...

Hi guys, as per piratehatter ^^, i also shook hands very recently on a 2007 reg outback RN, (wiv' paddles) but mine was from 2 lovely chaps ! Nearly bought the met' blue one up in Matlock (still for sale) but it had 69k on the clock, this one (see profile pic) only had 27k genuine .. result ? i think so (although it cost top dollar) and it's nigh on mint, so am a happy bunny so far ! Almost bought a Forester a few years back and always hankered after a Sub' but i've been over on the darkside (Mitsu) recently so it's nice to finally land up with summat a bit quicker ! excuse me while i have a butchers round this site, i dare say i'll be back with loadsa questions once i've figured it out..
