  • Small update today, look whats back from machine shop :D   followed by a normal block vs closed deck converted      

  • Managed to get back up again with my camera so got some pics of the damage,     All 8 bearing halves have been worn down to copper and most have a deep ware grove in them middle of the bearing.

Came across the origional graphs so thought i'd post them up.

 

this was the day i picked it up and it had gone straight up for a check over,

then after the syvecs, manifold, decat etc

was some gain in spool and peak but considerably lower than expected given the mods. and then the dreaded was found

Popped up to clinic today top drop the mrs car off and check up on mine and how things are looking for next week. Found a few more bits that were worn out, inlet pipe is fooked so a new perrin one is going on, valve shims and buckets all had to be replaced so now got a set of supertech buckets and shims.

 

But end result is good news, heads are built and attached onto block, final checks on them to make sure all good and then cam covers will go on and rest of the engine can be assembled.

Gearbox is done (5th gear syncro was worn) and ready to go back in, cars booked into the main workshop to have the engine and box fitted tuesday, few other bits and bobs before going off for mot and all being well next sat will be the day :D

yeah, not picked it up yet, having its mot tomorrow.

 

got 500 miles on crappy mineral oil, then 500 on semi synth all with no boost :(

 

then back for fully synth and map :D

Oh right not to bad then [emoji3] soon do that after a few trips to fetch milk the long way round from the shop's [emoji106]

work and back is about 30 miles if i go the long way/back country route. clinic and back is 60, im off to raf scampton sat which is 90,,,,,,,,, hahahaha

Not far from me Scampton [emoji3] and I like how you've even added the trip to and from the clinic lol. Only downside is this is where you have every nut sack in audi a3 and corsa up your !Removed! [emoji17] but be worth it [emoji106]
