was told it was forged engine too and now im thinking thats lies

Is it 6 speed as i'm sure the sti box has 6 gears however i may be wrong as i don't have an sti, someone will be along soon to help out further 👍

I think the classics sti were 5 speed, but I'm sure someone will be along to confirm, savage?

It been recovered now waiting garage to diagnose tomorrow

Sorry to hear about this mate.

Yes the classic STi box is still 5 speed. It was the newage STi's (2001 onward) that had 6 speed. You'll have to get the code off the box to find out for sure. But unfortunately even the STi 5 speed boxes are pretty weak and don't take much abuse/ power before they tend to fail. Could well be a STi box and you've just been unlucky with it failing so soon after you get it.
