mfnick Posted May 15, 2017 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Sorry to hear about this mate. Yes the classic STi box is still 5 speed. It was the newage STi's (2001 onward) that had 6 speed. You'll have to get the code off the box to find out for sure. But unfortunately even the STi 5 speed boxes are pretty weak and don't take much abuse/ power before they tend to fail.
