VickyD
Hi All Apologies if this breaks any rules but I need to sort out a couple of things quickly if possible. Classic Car Weekly are looking to do an article on the 1st Generation Subaru Impreza regarding modifications that can be done and how they improve the car. This can be in terms of road handling, fuel efficiency, comfort, safety, etc. These modifications can be from fairly simple things that a competent enthusiast can do in a day to the more complex upgrades requiring the services of a specialist garage. Where we need the club's help is in finding an owner who can proof read the article to make sure we have the right mods that people to do their cars and also an owner who has done some mods and is happy to say what they have done and how it has improved their car. We also need a photo of the owner with their car. The proof reader and the owner can be the same person. If there is anyone one out there who can help get this all tied up for next Tuesday that would be great - I appreciate it's a Bank Holiday weekend but due to various circumstances we have ended up with a short lead time on this one. If you can reply to this thread or to vicky@richarddredge.com that would be appreciated. Many thanks Vicky

Jay762
I take it there will be a beer or two in it for the guys should they choose to give up their time and impart their knowledge? http://www.richarddredge.com/
Tidgy
I'm kinda confused by this, has the article already been written?
Jay762
I would hazzard a guess that there is a draft article that has been written based on some form of research completed - you may or may not learn the sources of that. It would appear they are looking to validate the research and get a photo example to publish with the article in a release shortly - judging by the timelines I would say next week or the week after
Tidgy
I don't mind reading it, but i would have thought it would be better to go to a specialist who has alot more experience with multiple cars. One thing about subaru's is different cars react differently to the same mods
Jay762
maybe that will be an outcome of the research or a valid point you could express as part of the feedback but I dont know if the magazine is aimed at people who are more DIY orientated, I am not familiar with it myself? VickyD
Hi All Sorry just come back to this one. What happens is that a draft article is put together by looking at various forums, club pages, specialist websites etc on the various mods that can be done to MkI Impreza. We then like to run the article past a specialist or club technical secretary, in this case a technical secretary / club member is often the better one as they tend to know which mods are more common amongst their members. A specialist can say what is available and what they do but this may be a limited choice. It's also a chance to promote the relevant club and show what's available to potential members - a few clubs have mentioned this so it's another reason we approach clubs. The mods can be ones that an enthusiastic owner can do over a weekend to ones that require specialist help. It's an 800 word article so not in depth but is done to show what can be done to the car. I'm more than happy to approach a specialist but are there any owners who would like to be featured before I ask the specialist if they have any customers they'd like to put forward? Many thanks, Vicky
Jay762
Thanks for clarifying
Tidgy
I don't mind having a read. My car is pretty heavily modded from stock, although done by a specialist including full custom block up rebuild so its long term stuff rather than DIY over the weekend. VickyD
Tidgy - I've sent you a message giving further details, if you let me know what you think that would be great. Many thanks Vicky
savage bulldogs
I'd gladly have a look at it, if you need another opinion or if you need any other info regarding ease of basic diy mods to self built engine's . Think my "sticky" build thread on here covers the majority of mods, most of which have a albeit "sketchy" write up as I've done them Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
