  1. Like i said i am just guessing but easy to eliminate with a simple test.
  2. https://scoobyparts.com/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-exhausts/exhausts-for-impreza-wrx-sti-01-05/hayward-and-scott-2-5-inch-cat-pipe-new-age-impreza Think this is the right bit like your post earlier, this also says MOT friendly and implies it does not require a map. Someone with better knowledge must be able to help you. I feel like it is a bit like the blind leading the blind today. lol.
  3. Ok at least I have caught up now. No I can not find one easily either.
  4. I thought the part with the cat in was bad as well. I must of lost the thread somewhere. I cannot see the part you bought having anything to do with the engine light as it is after the sensor. The Cat part might affect it which you now have get, is that right?
  5. What you said it was the other end. I thought you ordered this part already. That would be a better option if fooked though. Center section with resonator/or without much cheaper.
  6. That looks like a decat version to me.
  7. I am not sure but you may be able to get away with a decat pipe there, cheaper. Someone with should be able to advise on this and if you did decat this section would you need a map?
  8. Based on this diagram that is the front Cat. Bummer.
  9. Which end? Towards the engine or towards the rear of car.
  10. In the colder weather then this would amplify the draw on the battery and making the voltage drop worse. Is it worse when the weather is colder?
  11. I would guess that while starting the voltage drop across the alarm is so big it freaks out. Did you replace the battery with one of the same size, cranking power? If you put a smaller one in that might explain it. Easily tested with jump leads, just wire in another battery (as if jump starting) and if the chirp stops then you have a solution, buy a bigger better battery.
  12. Depends on the error, but if it was cause of the holed exhaust it should go out by itself eventually. Same if the garage clears it, it may not come back on instantly, again depends on the code. I changed an exhaust and O2 sensor on my classic sport and it took a few miles for the engine light to go out. I was worried for a while. For example it may need X amount of passes before it will decide to turn light out. Same when light goes on, with some codes it needs to error X times before it will decide to turn light on.
  13. Good luck. I have my fingers crossed for you. Remember the code may not go out instantly. The ECU needs to learn that the code is no longer valid.
  14. Reading through the thread again hot or cold it does if been switched off for more than 5 minutes. Weird. I still cannot really hear it in the video. The part you repeat sounds like I siad more of a hissing sound. Cause you have actually heard it I guess it is easier for you to hear it in the video.
  15. Horrible situation. From your last post it sounds heat related in some way. Does it make the noise if the car is switched off for 5 minutes when the engine is warm? What bugs me is why only 7mph. Clutching at straws but could something need bleeding like power steering? Do not know anything about auto trans but do they need fluid and bleeding in anyway?
  16. Based on your thread posts and that video I would say it is not the brakes, but without seeing the car I would not put money on it. If it was the brakes it would not just be at 7mph, surely it would be either side of that by some MPH. How many miles do you do? For a 2018/19 XV to have lipped the disks already seems a bit soon?
  17. The noise at 45 seconds does not sound like grinding to me (more like pressure being released), and I cannot hear anything after this. Does not help with the high pitch sound. Sorry but I could not make out any grinding in the video. Listen with headphones too.
  18. They only made 75 for the UK i believe, is that correct?
  19. Unfortunately some clown drove into me and I took it there for the panel repairs (covered by 3rd party insurance). While it was there I thought would get them to do a few simple things, big mistake. They are absolutely clueless. Dashcam rescued me with the crash and filmed the dealership clowns doing everything very badly. Even caught them treating other cars in their workshop very badly, and then there was the test drive just to top it off. I made them squirm.
  20. Put this way my car is never going to this Subaru dealership ever again. This is just the tip of the iceberg. They did not treat my Scooby very well. They paid for it though.
  21. @ROSSCOSM Your not the only one, I did the same when I first got mine. Even Subaru dealership had to phone me to work out how to start it.
  22. Welcome. Sorry but in the 2nd picture the scooby is overwhelmed by the green monster. Nice Charger. The scooby does not even catch my eye but it is lovely.
  23. Just making sure there is at least one post today do not want to stop the run. One more extra to the 400. Daryl 203 posts in a week jesus, we all must have too much time on our hands lol.
  24. Hi Marc lovely motor, do not see many of those in UK. I only know of one locally. I know what you mean about Scoobies. My dad years ago could not find a car he liked, had to be new company car. He test drove Fords, Mazda etc but did not like any. I told him to try a Subaru which was not even on his radar. He said he jumped in a Classic Impreza 2.0 Sport (which I bought off him eventually) and drove 1/2 mile and bingo he instantly knew this was the car he wanted. This was in 1998 and he has had Subaru's ever since, XV currently. Before I sold the classic he had one last go and said it is like meeting up again with an old friend. My problem now is when the sad day comes to get rid of my 2007 WRX is what the fook am I going to replace it with. Just thought I might use this post to inspire my old man >70 to get rid of his diesel XV and look for something like this.
