Recommendation required for northwest tuner/specialist
I am sure you can find at least one horror story at every shop. Most don't become public. My Local Subaru dealership are clueless all caught on dashcam and not just my car lol. I just did not go public but made them squirm. Their test drive left most people i showed horrified on my wrx and it was not just the test drive that was caught on camera.

Probably something simple. Have you done any work on it yet? When were the plugs last changed and what type? I would get a bluetooth dongle and Torque app as it is more useful for monitoring other stuff like coolant temp and check and clear codes. Temp gauge in dash is way too slow. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=obd+bluetooth&crid=2H3XB9B9RQLCG&sprefix=obd+%2Caps%2C136&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_5_4 I bought this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sp-full-Diagnostic-Scanner-Android/dp/B07RHRMG1B/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2H3XB9B9RQLCG&keywords=obd+bluetooth&qid=1574429367&sprefix=obd+%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-6 and this app https://scanneranswers.com/torque-pro-obd2-app-review/ Out of interest what octane fuel you using?

Easiest jacking points are the front one and the rear diff. The problem with the front one it is a long way back and the car is too low for a normal jack (still can be used). I presume a Hawkeye is worse as the nose looks longer. I have to drive the front wheels up onto bricks to get the jack easily under. Once jacked up use the purple or green points for axel stands. Make sure your on the pinch welds in the sills.

I don't know much about Wagons but I never noticed until seeing your picture that they don't have the arch extensions like a WRX/STI saloon. Do Subaru make a wagon with the wider arches. Nice Wagon BTW

Ffs no more question until we see some pictures lol

Yes. Rear diff is just two plugs. Easy.

Gear oil is the gearbox. You can find a dipstick under the intercooler near the turbo. Rear diff is separate.

I only said get Haynes manual as I thought you were new to this. If your a plumber by trade then I expect you to be able to change the oil anyway. Haynes manual is useful though. Looks like your ok for most of it looking at the invoices. Do not get the invoice with just an oil filter on it, did they change the oil as well? The oil costs are not on the invoice. It also looks like the previous owner threw some money at it which is a good sign. Jay has the right manual.

Again personally i would spend a lot more after all it will be supporting a car while YOUR are underneath it. It will work sure. I would advise axel stands too. I would spend the whole £145 on jack and stands maybe more but that is me.

You will be fine. Trolly jack and axle stands unless you like living dangerously.

Hardest part of changing the oil is jacking car up lol. If I was you I would buy a good trolly jack and Haynes manual and go from there. I cannot answer your question as I have now idea of your skills.

You have to start somewhere. What do you want to do?

Personally I don't like the sound of that but it could be fine. If i can do it myself i will in the street. No garage, hopefully that will change soonish. For £145 You could buy a jack etc and never pay anyone for oil change again. Plus you know it has been done properly.

Getting rad out is simple. One of the easiest jobs. Good insurance quote. Click mechanic. What's that?

New member. Advice on which car.
Imports maybe different I do not know but my Fooking tax is £535 per year for my UK 2007 Hawkeye WRX. I think the cut off date was April 2007, any before are £325 per year.

I would concentrate on getting any fluid changes or belts done if it requires any or you have no record. Things like cam belt(already done), diff oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid, coolant etc. Fill in any service gaps first then worry about the cosmetics. Then stick to the service schedule without failure.

Nice one. Glad you like it. As RossCosm said the transmission does whine a little especially in the lower gears all normal. The MPG on a run like you said 75mph it will do high 20s, it when you drive round town it dives to low 20s.

Opie oils will advise you if you ask. I use Motul 8100 5w-40 Fully Synthetic. Car takes 4.3 liters approx. 2 liter maybe different.

Sounds steering related to me from your description. Pump, rack. Check fluid under the air intake, lines for leaks and see if any of the boots have split. On full lock mine whines and vibrates a little. Not advisable to use full lock like that though.
