  1. the reason i did the meets for an old forum on there is because there is security there's no little pillocks doing stupid **** like that, you get the odd one driving in or out like an idiot but theres a non security car park on the other side of the dual carriageway with b&q and maccy d's that get all the tossers
  2. Welcome aboard fella, nobody will take the **** here pal, it's all friendly as, nice choice in motor, look forward to the photos
  3. I don't think there's any big ones available but if they have a resident vinyl maker I can't see why they can't make you one
  4. Aye, maccy d's and KFC, there's a nandos and an all you can eat chinese
  5. I've been thinking of getting shut of the wagon and getting a white saloon, every time I see a white saloon I want one more and more, that's next on my wishlist lol
  6. If you have used him that long surely your on friendly terms with him, pull him to one side so no one else an hear you and just say that all your gonna do is for the cat, really test, then de cat again when you get home, tell him there is a couple of pints in it for himMy tester knows if he failed mine on all the illegal parts all I'd do is swap email over for a retest and then back again when it's done, not only does that waste my time but it wastes his time and costs him money as a retest is free within 10 days and that's money he could be making from other customers
  7. I'd have said synchros on the worn side myself, unusual for a low miler like that, could be a previous owner ragging through the gears, I have a nearly new sport clutch in the garage, also have the better half of a sport box at the side of the house, I started taking it apart for weighing in the alloy then the weather changed so it's just sat there, if there's anything you want that I might have just ask
  8. I'm 6'5" so it's a major issue having the seat quite far back for me, the problem getting out is the lowest to the floor means your leg position getting out is more horizontal than vertical so it's tricky, top that to the boxed in !Removed! scenario and it takes some getting used to, Dogma had the fixed part of the lap belt going through the lower side hole in the seat If you have a habit of putting your mobile in between your legs you'll find it drops through the hole in the seat base lol As for comfort there are cushions you can get for search seats to make it better for each driver, I can't see why you couldn't use them with cobra seats I've got 2 brand new reclining bucket seats in the back of the garage, the wife bought them for me 6 years ago and I refused to pay over £100 for each subframe to fit them :-(
  9. I bung my tester another tenner and he ignores it
  10. Yeh not that difficult to be honest, must try harder
  11. I'd think it'd be a connection issue myself, I took the green caps off so I have brighter clocks, one of mine is slightly dimmer but as there's no caps it's not bothering me at night, also I go up under the dash for messing with the clocks
  12. The thing is they will hide whenever they get chance as. most people will just pay up, if the van is not sat a certain distance between speed camera signs you don't have to pay, if the van is not at least 75% visible from the direction in which you got photographed you don't have to pay, if there is a car in the same shot in which they have your plate going in either direction they can't prove it was you doing that speed and also the calibration on the equipment needs to have been up to date at the time of the alleged offence, and the best one, if you don't receive the 1st letter from them before 2 weeks of the date of the alleged offence they can't prosecute, the wife hates it when I see them out and about because I. Will go and kick off with them to try and get them to do their job properly, we get them round here every now and again and the last time I saw them was about 2 years ago, before that it was 3 times a week, I parked up and took over 40 pics at drivers height all the way to the van then shots from the side of the van for his view and pointed out all the things he was doing wrong

    How much!!!

Very very cool, but very pricey, you could get a loan for it, put it on and rob a bank lol
  14. Dogma had a set in his first classic wagon, standard belts wee a pain to get clipped in but they were very supportive, not the comfiest for long distance journeys for me bit I do suffer from a bad back, they do sit a lot lower to the floor than stock and getting out can be er interesting but I'd happily run them in a road car as a daily A word of caution regarding harnesses, you can't have them bolted downward behind the front seats, they must be bolted straight back or 45 degree angle, also if your using a harness bar on the b pillars make sure you don't need the seat to be that far back or you'll end up either wasting a harness bar or a very a quashed driving position
  15. My name is earl's brother randy gave it away lol
  16. Welcome aboard, first things to do would be filter, exhaust (without cat is better depending on mot tester) brakes, then stuff like turbo, injectors, remap
  17. Most stuff for subarus seems to mate well, aftermarket to stock, I'd go decat and have a look for an mot garage that'll lt it pass without
  18. My mate blew 2 boxes after his last power climb, he's at 418 on a bug, he's had it mapped now to be less aggressive, still the same power just not all at once, he's getting the 6 speed fitted in a few weeks and will get the aggression back when it's in
  19. I used to organise meets for a vw forum and held them on Ashton moss, plenty of places to eat and drink as well as the bowling and cinema, if you go to the entrance of the main complex there is a security station with a small brick building, give them a knock and let them know what your intending and assure them there will be no stupid driving and you will make sure people will keep the area clean, if they argue the toss tell them you want to speak to Sinbad, he runs PCP security in tames ide and he's fine with people having meets provided they behave
  20. Yeh the only thing they would normally need is the old mot, there is no legal reason they require the log book, it's a hooky mot so why would he think asking for the log book is legit, if they will do dodgy tests they will do most things dodgy, it would be cheaper in the long run for him to fix what needs doing for a proper test, I would stay well clear
  21. Welcome aboard pal, put plenty of fuel in and take the long way home, fun cars with plenty of smiles for miles
  22. Without a paddle
  23. I've been a vw fan and owner for many years and 2 things that made me get a subaru were 1. All the boy racers from maccy d's car parks in corsas and saxos have progressed to the mk4 gti turbo, cheap to insure and turbo power, this means the vag forums have really gone to **** 2. Boy racers usually have 0 no claims and are younger than 25 so they can't afford to insure the subaru
  24. The sport doesn't have a rear anti roll bar just a front, also rear brakes are drums not discs, you could change both these items for turbo parts then you would get better handling, personally I'd save spending on the sport to get a turbo, also as for swapping out the sport engine for a turbo you would need most of the wiring too as the electrics will be different, cost wise it would be cheaper to get a complete turbo car If you can find an early import then most were registered as a gl so the insurance is cheaper than a UK turbo, they are hard to find though
