  1. Most stuff for subarus seems to mate well, aftermarket to stock, I'd go decat and have a look for an mot garage that'll lt it pass without
  2. My mate blew 2 boxes after his last power climb, he's at 418 on a bug, he's had it mapped now to be less aggressive, still the same power just not all at once, he's getting the 6 speed fitted in a few weeks and will get the aggression back when it's in
  3. I used to organise meets for a vw forum and held them on Ashton moss, plenty of places to eat and drink as well as the bowling and cinema, if you go to the entrance of the main complex there is a security station with a small brick building, give them a knock and let them know what your intending and assure them there will be no stupid driving and you will make sure people will keep the area clean, if they argue the toss tell them you want to speak to Sinbad, he runs PCP security in tames ide and he's fine with people having meets provided they behave
  4. Yeh the only thing they would normally need is the old mot, there is no legal reason they require the log book, it's a hooky mot so why would he think asking for the log book is legit, if they will do dodgy tests they will do most things dodgy, it would be cheaper in the long run for him to fix what needs doing for a proper test, I would stay well clear
  5. Welcome aboard pal, put plenty of fuel in and take the long way home, fun cars with plenty of smiles for miles
  6. I've been a vw fan and owner for many years and 2 things that made me get a subaru were 1. All the boy racers from maccy d's car parks in corsas and saxos have progressed to the mk4 gti turbo, cheap to insure and turbo power, this means the vag forums have really gone to **** 2. Boy racers usually have 0 no claims and are younger than 25 so they can't afford to insure the subaru
  7. The sport doesn't have a rear anti roll bar just a front, also rear brakes are drums not discs, you could change both these items for turbo parts then you would get better handling, personally I'd save spending on the sport to get a turbo, also as for swapping out the sport engine for a turbo you would need most of the wiring too as the electrics will be different, cost wise it would be cheaper to get a complete turbo car If you can find an early import then most were registered as a gl so the insurance is cheaper than a UK turbo, they are hard to find though
  8. Makes me wanna pull mine off and paint them now lol
  9. I'd have it in a carcoon best invention I've ever seen for keeping a car sorted
  10. With regards to drilled discs failing, I had drilled and grooved on all but 1 of the cars I've owned, I've bought expensive and cheap, I found cheap no name ones failed after a few months, the holes that are drilled into them need to be chamfered as the flat edge on the cheap ones causes cracks when they get to hot, all the quality ones I've bought since have had chamfered holes and have been fine
  11. just thought, i have some standard classic saloon rear lights? late spec clocks with 90k on, i think i still have the full dash in the shed
  12. no worries pal, hope it works for you
  13. i'm not a fan of the ones below the 34 but them wheels, that kit, that colour...that works, very nice bud
  14. no worries pal, cool beans
  15. R34 GTR homena homena and in bayside blue splurghmph
  16. my mate has anti lag on that black bug i posted, sounds awesome and goes well too what deal you thinking for the lenses as i'm not in a good position with the finances and the wife right now, i need some new pads for the scoob and a new maf for the wifes golf so theres a few funds going out already i have 2 sets of the standard clears, 1 on mine at the moment and some spares somewhere in the garage, i'm able to send a set if you want as i have some then to run on the car, then when i get the ambers i can send you the other clears? can't think of owt else i have that you might want?!
  17. yeh i have to give mine a whack to get it in, i have given it a "tickle" before when it's not been shunted in and luckily where my exhaust is there is a small alley up the side of the house and the cats were near the back of the garage at the far end of the alley, had the cats been dogs i don't think they would have been able to move as quick but it just clipped the tail of one as it ran off that particular neighbour is now being an !Removed! over land disputes with us so i don't put the bung in any more, i make sure i back as close to his wall and as far back to the garage as possible so only HE gets the noise from the exhaust
  18. it's not what you have or don't have between your legs it's what your like as a person that matters, doesnt matter if your young or old, male or female, white black or green, if you love cars we love cars we're all gonna get along ;)
  19. 22 ft-lbs 264 in-lbs 29.83Nm i'd do them off the ground, not sure what difference it makes to be honest
  20. i have stacks of cars for my win list, so much so that i've told all the neighbours if i win i will buy them houses elsewhere as i will need all the street for a series of garages to house my cars :D i believe too that the prototype 22B's that are mentioned were in white, or at least one of them was as quite some years ago it was for sale with a letter of authenticity from prodrive to say it was the first 22B proto
  21. i'm not trying to patronise anybody just trying to be helpful, if i cause offence in things i say it's not meant deliberately, if it was it would be accompanied by swearing
  22. yes, same order as Gambit said, what i meant by the way your doing it, basically theres 2 ways that will get best results, 1 get a 1 man bleeding kit, you need to get one with a chain/strap to attach to the fluid bottle as it's not a threaded top, these ones can be quite expensive, the other method is the 2 man way, 1 in the car pushing the pedal, the other undoing the nipples person 1 sit in car person 2 get to the correct corner p2 get the spanner ready on the nipple DO NOT undo yet p1 pump the pedal a few times till firm then when firm keep pressure on and shout ready to p2 p2 undo nipple slowly, you should see fluid coming out and if air is present it will spit p1 when pedal is getting low shout ready to p2 p2 tighten nipple repeat these steps until no spitting is coming from nipple and each corner in the order Gambit said if you still have spongy brakes it could be a split pipe somewhere letting air in or the garage that did the bleed used fluid that's been open for a while, brake fluid absorbs moisture over short periods if left on a shelf unsealed, if this is then placed in a car it can give symptoms of air in the system
  23. also depends how you are bleeding them too
  24. they need doing a set way to keep the air out of the main system, most cars are like that to be honest, also i had the same issue when i upgraded my brakes, bled them as i was fitting them but had the soft pedal pump to get hard pedal feel, Dogma told me the order in which to bleed and it worked a treat
  25. can you hear the difference? i didn't think either vids were loud yet when i'm crouched videoing it without the bung my chest was vibrating with the rumble
