  1. Oh and just to add, I have had an android since the iPhone 4s are out and have loved them more than any iPhone I've had
  2. I've had the iPhone in the past from the early days, trouble is I've been on Vodafone since it started and they only had iPhone on o2 at first, I had to jailbreak it to convert it to Vodafone, this in turn lead to me doing the same with every iPhone I had upto the 4,it was also a pain in the **** when they updated them as you'd have to wait for the jailbreak, they've got better but until the 4s you were stuck with extremely limited functions unless you jailbreak it, one of the biggest issues I had was if you bought a full music track from iTunes you would have to pay again if you wanted 30 seconds of that track as a ring tone, everything seems to be about making money with them, then there's the technology, they have always been a few years behind most other brands when it comes to stuff everybody else has, the iPhone 3 came with a 1.3 mega pixel camera, the yearly equivalent Nokia N96 had 5 and a flash, when apple got 5 most were on 8 now apple have 8 and the HTC one has an ultrapixel camera, then you look at design, the HTC sensation had gorilla glass when the iPhone 4 was out that was just glass, then as the 4s comes out with the same glass front and back the galaxy S3 has gorilla glass, to show the difference there was a video on you tube, iPhone 4s vs galaxy S3 drag test, some guy drags 2 brand new phones over tarmac and gravel with the camera on them at all times, when done the iPhone is battered beyond recognition, the galaxy screen doesn't have a mark on it, all apple create is products for the fashion conscious, all the others incorporate practicality too, not to mention memory, if you fill an iPhone, which I did with a 32gb one, you have to remove stuff for it to run right and to put anything else on, with 99% of other phones you have a minimum 16gb internal storage and upto 32gb on external if required, one phone will now take 500gb external memeory
  3. Oooo that's what I'm after more than a ything is the anti lag and launch, that's what put me off the esl board, if it's still significantly cheaper than most when they have that option I'll look into getting one As for ecu location, it's on the passenger foot rest firewall area, lift up the carpet from under the glove box area and there a metal plate bolted to the footwell, undo the plate and you ecu should be there, as far as I know the majority of modified early ecu look standard as the boards can be switched out for the mappable one, if you look around the edges of the casing there may be a void type sticker over it as a precaution seal from the new ecu fitters
  4. Same, not been on there or lads since I started coming here tbh
  5. Looks good, nice and refreshing to see wagons other than classics, they don't seem to be that popular
  6. Yeh sounds like a good bloke, glad it's sorted with no major costs involved, if you could get him on here ash we could possibly get some business for him, I'm happy to use a garage that comes highly recommended even if it's not just up the road, it's hard to find a decent trustworthy model specific mechanic
  7. On the classics the earth is from the gear box to the chassis leg/battery, most cars have one from the gearbox to the battery or somewhere near the battery as an earth point, the wife's first car a pug 306 had issues one day on the way to uni, she said the clocks were bouncing the needles all over the place and the engine was acting like she was out of fuel despite filling the tank before she left, I told her to get to uni as she was half a mile away and I'd go and look at it, she didn't get there, it died just round the corner, I went to go look at it and straight away spotted the earth had snapped off the box end, in was expecting a fried ecu so was quite shocked when I re connected it and it fired up, I've had a bad earth on a v6 conversion I've done for someone too, they were all connected but as they'd been removed and refitted they were not making full contact and we only had 2 out of 6 injectors firing, I got some 8awg cable from my audio system and ran it from the neg on the battery to the fuel rail and got all 6 injectors, I then removed all earth's and sanded all the connecting faces and refitted and it was fixed, even though they weren't dirty they still didn't contact properly
  8. All the cats are named after cars, Zonda was the first
  9. 10. I was of the belief that 99 - 01 classics could be mapped on the stock ecu, it's only something I've heard so don't quote me on that

The, we've been here for 12 years now and I'm so used to the layout I think a table would look too cluttered, when she's off nights I'll have a chat with her and see if we can figure out where to put a larger viv and I'll measure up the space and if you want to design something I'm more than happy to let you and I'd be very grateful, I'm assuming that's either your living or a hobby you enjoy, if not then I apologise for seeming cheeky lol
  12. Haha, you wanna hear me rant about mobile phones, that's my second love after cars, I've had a mobile phone since I was 18 and I'm 36 now, I've always had the latest and greatest and I pass the car phone warehouse staff off when I go in because I'm telling them about phones that they didn't even know ow existed yet lol

Yeh I know I know, although when we got married I had a cavalier with major mods, it was my first car and it was a basic cav with a redtop on carbs, 60mm drop, 15's, full stainless, k&n and full spam racing suspension, then we had our first child and she said I had to get a sensible car, I knew money would be an issue in the future for mods so I came back with a mk2 golf gti, when I got money I fitted a later mk3 engine and tuned that to 170bhp, then wanted more so fitted a v6 and got that to over 200, I killed that car with my lead foot so said I was getting a more economical car, I stuck with it and got a meek 115bhp mk3 golf and modified the chap out of it, I was bored in less than a year and wanted more power, I told her I wanted an impreza she said it had to be a golf as it would be cheaper to run, so I got a mk4 golf v6 that did 18mpg on a good day, after letting her see just how much money was going on fuel for it I swapped it without her knowing for a Peugeot 106 1.1 And the impreza, she thought I was joking at first, then when it sunk in she told me to sell the impreza, so one day she was at work some guy just happened to be walking down our cul de sac and wanted to buy the pug, so I sold it and kept the subject, she now believes it's not worth owt so rather than sell it and have to buy another car she's stopped nagging, and it's slightly more economical than the golf lol But yeh she's still the boss lol

See I'd love just a coffee table, she likes the minimalist look so we compromised and went for the minimalist look, bit like the cats, I wanted a dog she wanted a cats so we compromised and got 4 cats and no dog lol
  15. Trust me, the way Zonda acts you'd think she's a dog , she plays fetch, flicks her right foot when you scratch behind her ear and even sits for treats when told, when she's on the bed with the wife and I she lies in the middle and pushes her back against one of us and her paws on the other
  16. That's the kinda spirit all forums should share, well done guys for the offering, it's hard to be exact when you can't do things to check over a computer, and I've never had a cracked piston myself but I've seen it happen to a mates golf, although it was more a chunk from the top that escalated to massive failure lol, I'm sure the op will be very grateful and I do hope it's something simple and cheap to fix, nothing worse than a new car that's broken when your skint

No he's just a depraved one man spunk bucket lol And Bill is a baby corn snake, he was only short when we got him and has grown to a few feet already, he's still in the starter tank, he was left in a house that the previous tenants just abandoned after not paying rent, we said we'd take him, or rather I did without asking the wife lol, he's due a feed and he gets quite aggressive when he's hungry, he's not dangerous but is very mobile as he's thinking everything that moves is dinner, once he's fed I'll get a pic or 2
  18. I've had the past week of nights to myself, kinda, the boss is on nights so had the kingsize bed for just me and one of the cats, she refuses to sleep downstairs with the others and goes nuts if you leave her down there with them lol
  19. I've just noticed how much spell correct had jumped in on that last post, I really need to start reading them before I post
  20. If that spec fuzzy is the same as the impreza it should be obd2 also if by generic you mean original equipment then it could well have been in for some years already and thus why it's failing, if you mean generic for its fault then that's not something I know about for that particular part, any cars I've had lambdas on has always been juicy and decatted so a failing sensor wouldn't be noticeable unless I got the problems you described, my current lambda is faulty and causes a slight over fueling but that's all, I had a v6 golf with twin cats and 4 lambdas, 2 of them failed but at 130 notes each I just lived with the over fueling instead, it helps having a tester at the mot station that looks the other way for non safety related issues
  21. What parrots are they, I'd have a macaw if I could afford one, superb birds, my local pet shop has 2 both friendly and always chatty, and one of the shops we used to sell the bunnies to had an African grey with a chorley accent, for those that don't know what that sounds like it's the same as Janice Battersby from coronation street, or just you tube it, I'm born and bred in Manchester so it's quite noticeable to me hearing the local dialect from a bird

I'll have to get some pics of our current animals up, love the vivarium, the wife's adamant he's not getting a bigger house as she hates the fact I have him to start with lol
  23. There's quite a lot of that kinda stuff available now, some is much better than others
