Yeah, too many mods there not to get it remapped.

Rather than a garage, is it worth ringing a few alarm fitters to ask opinions?
-
Look at it this way. If your car is 2002 or older, then these mirrors are the future :) Seriously though, it's all personal choice. Personally, I like them.

The same goes for the crank and cam pos sensor. Check for codes to see if one of those has died. When either of those fail, the ecu cannot determine the position of the pulleys in relation to each other. To protect itself, it inhibits the fuel pump. I know this from hitter experience. Luckily, mine was an easy fix as the cam pos plug had just worked loose. Unfortunately, I had done a lot of work and wasted a lot of time before checking the codes. Another think to check is all the earth connections from the engine to the body. I've also had a car fail to start due to a corroded earthing point.

The front seats should swap over very easily but fitting estate ones into a saloon maybe a problem, certainly for the backrest.

I heard about this yesterday. It could be awesome, although I suspect a hell of a lot of disruption leading up to a race.

The problem is that it's a small audience. People new to the subaru marque only know of one model, the Impreza. You see it all the time in wanted adverts. They just put 'subaru wanted' They just don't know about Legacies, Foresters and Justys. Or for that matter, the Tribeca. Even if they do know about the Legacy, they just don't realise that it's actually more performance than the Impreza. Admittedly, most folk want an Impreza, because it's an Impreza if that makes sense. I wonder how many Impreza wagon owners would have a Legacy if they knew about them.

bugeye will not start after upgrades HELP
Tlag replied to LukeandRobbugeye's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
I was at the pod at the weekend. What times did you get, and what were you after ? -
I agree. I'm a great believer in not badgeing something that it's not.

I've just read this page : http://www.transportsfriend.org/road/rsl.html That seems to suggest that you should have a speed limiter. I'm no trucker so most of that page dosnt mean a lot to me and I'm probably wrong to be honest :)

The max laden weight of your truck is what? About 12t? If so, the first line of that link applies: The types of vehicles not permitted to use the right hand lane on a motorway (which has three or more lanes) are, a goods vehicle having a maximum laden weight exceeding 7.5 tonnes,

One thing to consider if you break it for parts is this: Once the best bits have gone: interior, wheels, brakes, suspension and any other desirable bits you may have, the rest will sit there for a long time. As much as the sunroof is a nice feature for you, it's an off putting one for a lot of folk as it makes the shell less stiff if it were to be put on a track for example. If you are the type that wields the spammers a lot and regularly, it won't take long to strip the car down. If you are only an occasional spanner user, it will take a long time with much swearing and grazed knuckles along the way. As above, it's probably only worth a few hundred as it is so in my opinion the best way forward is replace the head gaskets. The next best option is get a secondhand engine put it. ( I always have a fear of the head gaskets or bearings letting go the following week though)

The yellow car is my sons. (Bip on here). It's the only one in the UK. I was gutted mine didn't make it as the two together would have been superb. There's always next year :) Here's one I took on the Saturday in the camping area : This one shows some poor sign placement....... Or is it? :) Only just realised that I carried a camera around all weekend and barely used it :(

Superb weekend at the show, great to put a face to a name and the weather was spot on:) Just really wished my project had been ready to take :(

The ecu should be back next week hopefully. Then to run it in and get the full map done. On a side note, a mate of mine who I built the engine for had his mapped today. 332bhp. I'm pleased with that. :)
-
The mapper visited and his laptop found the ESL ecu but didn't recognise the software on it. The result is that the ecu has been sent back to ESL to investigate. It does mean the car won't be at Japshow though :( I have managed to get on with a load of things whilst I'm waiting though. I had to cut the inside of the bumper to accommodate the fmic. That meant, I couldn't use the fog lights either so I made some grills up and fitted them And fitted it to the car before putting the headlamps and things together. Also finished off under the bonnet with altering the washer bottle to allow room for the fmic pipework, Then attention moved to the interior. Considering I had the entire interior out to fit the new writing loom, it didn't take too long to put back together, which meant I could finally fit my refurbished steering wheel. :) Still some more to do to get the gauges sorted but it was enough to get the base map on and now it should be totally finished before the ecu gets returned. Still going to Japshow, but I'm going in my gen 3 GTB which is for sale. I'll put a for sale sign in it at the show :)

Are you supplying the girls too ? :)
-
I will be going too. I'm going on the Saturday for the weekend and will also be on the UKLegacy stand.

If you really really have to use spacers, use the hub centric ones that locate in the centre as well as the stud holes.

Hi and welcome, The car looks great. That expansion bottle, as said above, has the min and max marks on. Dont fill it higher than the max. Even though the max line is quite low down. For track days, 4 pots are a must with good pads. A few years ago, on my first trip to the Nurburgring, I didnt even think about the brakes as i assumed Subaru must have made brakes to match the cars performance. Wrong, Aftyer only about half a dozen corners, i got serious brake fade. They came back to me about 2/3rds of the way round but ruined the fun. :( After that, 4 pots, braided lines, red stuff pads and grooved disks brought the fun back :) Since then, I have also been advised that a sump baffle plate can protect the engine from oil starvation in high speed corners.

Subaru owners meet in bucks, who's up for it?
Tlag replied to Scooby monkey's topic in South East Regional Meets
I could be up for this depending on dates obviously :) -
I wonder if someone tried to fit side skirts. Fitted one, didn't like it and took it off.
-
I'm beginning to wonder if it's too cheap and frightening people off. Not had much interest and need it gone to make space. I don't really want to put it on ebay. The last car I sold on there just attracted time wasters. :(
