  1. I quite sure a restriction in the intake path like that is going to reduce power those rods take up probably about 10 % surface area let alone the butterfly's so a 10% better flow should equate to a power increase although 20hp is quite optimistic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. No defo not cheep the link you put up are for the older gen engines , the black billet Ones for 08 + cars are even more hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Just run it on vpower will do the same thing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes I've seen the videos of how to derestrict / remove them yourself , but roger Clark do a sexy black billet set now although quite expensive . it would be much easier to just swap them over the day before remap, the cars my daily so I can't really have it off the road for the length of time it would take me to do the derestriction myself. But you don't think I will run into any reliability issues Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Just wondering if anybody on here has put tgv deletes onto an ej257, the only reason I'm asking is that I read, and it says in the description of some , that it could cause cold start issues. I remember when I got the my build done I did mention them to Alan j , but he said they don't do it on the 257 , but a part of me thought that could've just been because the parts weren't available . But I see Roger Clark now has 257 specific tgv deletes now. ( previous models would work but they would need modifying , I assume the 257 has slightly different fixings on the heads ) So really what I'm asking is that anybody fitted these to a modern sti , and have you had any issues with cold starts or idol, I'm hoping to get mine mapped again later this month or next month so I'm kinda hoarding parts ATM, these are on my list , but if I'm going to get starting issues I won't bother . any input would be greatly appreciated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Don't know why it posted the same photo twice [emoji85] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. that 10k quote if for the engine back in the car and ready to drive home..............but i cant remember if it is for 300hp or 350hp. Yes the starting price from engines tuner is car in and out but them , it was when I got mine done 5.5k for pistons ,rods , bearings , oil pump , water pump and all new gaskets and seals, head studs etc , then its £500 extra for the closed deck inserts, the quality of their work is top notch , they even re galvanised every bolt in the engine and cleaned and painted the block but that's just the engine build drive in drive out if you need a turbo injectors etc that will be more but I would definitely say that's a bit much Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes the calculator is good but also the face I've the wheels will make a difference. If you run a concave wheel face you can run a lower offset and still clear the brakes, I'm sure you will be ok if you run the 9inch if you run the same tyre size as long as your no silly low , I'm interested in how this goes I'm hoping to go wider wheels in the future as the 330s wheels look horrid lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. By the looks of it that's a sun visor , my mate had one in the middle like that on his golf r32 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I don't see an issue if you had yours built with a 2.5 crank to make it a 2.1 and then a closed deck insert maybe 14mm head stud conversion just to be sure that should future proof the bottom end , then oversized supertec valves should protect the heads for the extra power. I would've thought that should see you good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Back to topic you would probably need 1000cc injectors or maybe 850s , defo a closed deck block , But the thing is 600hp is a lot even the sti 6 speed is near its limit at 550lbft of torque , and like I said 600 hp can be achieved loads of different ways you could have two cars both with similar hp a one be much faster than the other , what I would do is get you do is get your engine a closed deck 2.1 or if the for around 3k roger Clark sell reconditioned 2.35s or 2.1 Cdb . depends on budget and what would work out more cost effective , if you can get the engine out yourself mite be cheaper that way , the get one of those new precision standard fitment turbos they are the nuts and you don't have the expense of a rotated setup . Roger Clark are running that setup on their new hawk sprit car about 500-550hp, does have a sequential box but it's destroying the opposition in the MLr and 22b sprint series, you don't need anymore than that otherwise it become such a pain in the !Removed! on the road and potentially wouldn't be any faster . 12. One day I will have it , may be a bit heavy for hand luggage tho haha So sexy https://www.iagperformance.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=IAG-ENG-1600 here a link if anyone's interested they will even send it in a hardens specialist flight box if you require Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Is it a Subaru system , or aftermarket , I notice you said pioneer , I had a Vito with a pioneer double din stereo and sat nav , fitted standard by Mercedes and it's been replaced 2 times now right pain in the !Removed! , sat nav stoped working the first time wouldn't let you enter a destination , then the digital radio stopped Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. $10,000 for the billet block cases ready for 14mm head studs it's just getting it hear that the problem Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Could be power steering pump mines getting quite noisy now , or could also be a lot of things, could be your secondary air pump as it only starts from cold Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Possibilities are endless really a good one is put the 2ltr crank in the 257 block then use a longer rod and it will be de stroke to about 2.3 and will rev its !Removed! off , but it all depends on budget . 600hp is achievable in many different ways dependant of fuel and budget if it's s road or race car , I would speak to Alan Jeffries engine tuner , they are probably one of the most experienced at that sort of thing and the do all their machining in house including closed deck inserts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I just don't like seeing people get ripped off and I'm sorry but over 3 k for an exhaust intake and remap is stupid , and tbh typical of clinic I personally never had dealing with them and never will after all the rubbish he tried feeding me when I was asking about my engine build , my friend recently contacted them about going 400hp in his blob he currently running 340 ish originally mapped by Jgm rip , just needs turbo and injectors, they started trying to say he needed a new ecu and stuff as apparently you can't measure the boost high enough on the standard one , the biggest load of cap I've ever heard. You plumb in a boost controller when on the dyno anyway needless the say it never went there lol , they will say anything to try and squeeze more cash out of you, I personally don't think it matters where you go it's your choice just be prepared to pay more at clinic and maybe not get the best service , tidgy always jumps on every thread clinic this clinic that when there are plenty more tuners out there who are just as if not more highly regarded in the Scoob world and bashing Andy forest lol I would take my car to him over clinic any day but that's just me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. 10k lol alan Jeffries engine tuner , will do a full build with closed Dec insert for 6k and they are one of the most highly regarded Subaru engine builders out there . or look on the roger Clarke site they have loads of different options on the all nowhere near that outrageous price I would maybe expect to pay that much with turbo intercooler headers and all ancillaries for 600hp not just the engine build that's a tad extreme Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Well I'm running 390 hp with the standard cat back just down pipe , stock air box with a cosworth filter , plus stock intercooler at time of tune , don't let clinic con you into buying things you don't need Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. 🤦🏻‍♂️, I don't think you even need a turbo back for that level of power lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Buy the parts yourself then go get a map £300 for intake £1000 ish for a full turbo back £600 ish for an ecutek map it's a no brainer , how they can justify that is just mental , they're not even offering a ecutek map that's just an open source so you dont even need to buy the license I would steer clear Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Over 3k your getting seen off mate that's outrageous [emoji85] that's really bad wish I could charge over a thousand pounds for fitting and exhaust and induction kit haha totally ridiculous Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. My friend has these on his MPs 3 and swears by them glws I would have them if they were wider Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Just go roger Clark or get Andy forest to do it , I wouldn't go clinic unless you have extra cash for parts you don't need lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think deep down we all knew it anyway ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
