  1. Not sure about the ECU mapping capabilities myself but I believe that a re-map will be the best with a decat otherwise you could face problems in the future. But I'm sure someone with more knowledge will come along soon enough
  2. Welcome mate, To upload pics the easiest way is to use photobucket or another hosting site and then embed them. Or you can upload them as attachments. Looking forward to seeing the car
  3. Really upset I couldn't make the meet, looks good. Hope to make it to one soon:)
  4. I had similar issue and turned out to be the spark plugs. Worth checking
  5. Not sure mate sorry
  6. Thanks Ash, that's good info, thanks for sharing. Think I will go for the 260ish BHP, seems easy enough and not overly painful on the wallet. I would definitely suggest 4-pots and uprated hoses as the first upgrade.
  7. Yeah measure the internal and external diameter at either end to make sure they are the same, then find pipes with the same diameter.
  8. Hey mate, don't think there are may ways to get more power without a re-map, which if it hasn't been mapped before you can either buy a license for it to be re-mapped or a new ecu, similar prices and around 4-500 from what I have read but there are many different threads on that. The general consensous is uprated fuel pumps, injectors decat and then a remap for 300-330ish which is meant to be pleanty in a classic. If running a decat I believe it should already have a map on it to make it run properly (not 100% sure but worth looking into it) there is a guy on here offering remote ECU tuning using your laptop and some of his software, xtremeracingtuning (member on here) I believe it is, never used them or anything but might be worth finding him and chatting to him. His website is xtremeracingtuning.com but again never used him so have no idea about his quality or anything like that.
  9. Yes mate the more the merrier, I would be coming myself but have my first exam the next day, Stanton500 is the other regional co-ordinator for our area and will be there with some other members and no doubt meet you there or just before some where, sure they will be around soon.
  10. Hey mate and welcome to the club, I have turbo 2000 as well and they are a great car, lots of options with tuning and parts relatively cheap and available second hand. Most important thing is to service the car with good oil and spark plugs regularly. The engines generally keep going when that happens. Get stuck in with the forums, cars and more.
  11. Still up for swaps, offers welcome
  12. Had the wheels lifted today and had a very good shake of both sides and absolutely no play in any direction, had a look at the cv joints and the boots both seem in perfect condition but didn't take them off to have a look. Only thing that looks broken are the steering rack boots so hopefully it will be them. Will be changing them a week Saturday so hopefully that fixes the problem.
  13. I have to say I do like the R-35 and 350, very nice. Looks like a good meet.
  14. Nice looking motor, probably my favourite shape Scooby personally, also like the wheel and car colour combo.
  15. Its a good days work the first time, clean the underside completely, every nook and cranny and then dry it. The apply undercoat, then need spraying over every few years. Not much work really but a good investment. Just like painting its all about the prep. Minimal use should and garaging should keep it ok.
  16. Pretty damn good for a 18 year old. Good about the rust too, would probably be worth getting some rust protection on the bottom if you are going to be using it regularly and not having it in a garage, probably worth it either way really, just take you some time but can be done cheap enough. And a great investment in the future and longevity of the car
  17. *Edit Wrong topic, ignore me
  18. I can't see any pictures:( just a list names
  19. Hi mate, welcome to the club, definitely a friendly bunch here, get involved
  20. I don't have much experience with turbo failure but I know a rattle isn't a good sound, rattle when low revs and low spool and then going fast it could still be there but you don't hear it or it could be something loose that gets forced against the side and spins with the turbo. Hopefully someone with some more knowledge will come. And a recording will help I imagine.
  21. I have turbo 2000 and easily quicker than a 320d so definitely an issue there. Sounds like it could a boost leak so check all the places Matt suggested.
  22. Ahh well they are perfectly within their rights to find a similar model to compare it to. And that's all they have to do. What model is down on the policy exactly? If it is down as just a standard legacy then they only have to value it against that, if it has the full details then I assume they have to value it against that.
  23. New discs pads and calipers put on together. So shouldn't be warped.
  24. Stanton - I have checked it and all seems good Gambit - Had stuck calipers on both sides and replaced them so know its not that. And watched them balance and check it all and it all seemed good to me.
  25. Actually attached the photos this time. I think.
