  1. Hey, So I have fitted this recirc valve. I'm assuming there is meant to be a hose attached to this big hose. But where is it meant to go? And where can I get the hose?
  2. Well with the rear tyres cracked on my wheels I started the search for new tyres, forgot how expensive they were even part worn. Then I started to look for rims and tyres second hand, managed to find these with 6mm tread all around and matching tyres, told they were looking a bit sorry for themselves but the tyres were good tread which is what I cared about more. Arrived the other day and got them on the car, tyres were flat and rims looking horribly dirty and some curbing damage. Pumped them up and gave them a scrub with the rough side of a washing up sponge. Have turned out fairly nicely. Am now thinking of keeping these and doing a light refurb and then selling the 17's. Also noticed that all the tyres are Toyo Proxes so that was a nice surprise, was expecting Nankings or other budget considering I paid less than £70 delivered. So a nice little treat, now if the recirc valve comes my car should be up and running again. Only downside is 1 centre cap is missing.
  3. Sounds like a good plan to me, will definitely get some tea and biscuits and such. I know of a place in Leeds with around 30 parking places and a kettle and possibly some indoors area for people if it gets cold. And not on a hill side. But as above lets get some more info and dates from people and then plan.
  4. I am away from 11th of April on holiday for 2 weeks and back around the 25th then have exams for the 3 weeks after that. Could do before the 11th or and evening after the 25th depending on the day.
  5. Have these, willing to swap, will send a PM
  6. Nice t hear that someone is saving instead of parting and selling. Will be a good little project and should end with a nice car.
  7. OK, so what does the last number of the engine code mean?
  8. Hey everyone, I am a bit confused about engine codes and a couple of other things. My car is a 2000 year Turbo 2000. From what I've read this was the uk name for the WRX GT. And from what I've read implies I have an EJ207 or EJ205 is that correct? And which one is it? And also not sure about the years and differences between v5, v4, v3 etc. Have had a google but no clear answer to me. Thanks
  9. No problem mate, thanks for clearing it up. I will definitely have a closer look when I get the new part. However everything else looked as it should when I looked yesterday.
  10. RH said the diaphragm was gone which would explain that. Is it possible to fix them?
  11. Put the new (to me) wheels on, pretty rough looking at the moment but with good Toyo tyres, underinflated but will pump them up tomorrow although will have to use a hand pump to get some pressure in them before buying a new inflator as I found mine is broken:(
  12. I understand all that, and understand why. More interested in what could cause the damage to the Dump Valve, RH said it was a Forge dump valve. Are they known to break a lot?
  13. Well today has been an interesting day to say the least. Booked the weekend off work to go and visit my mum for her birthday this weekend. Anyway had ordered some new wheels in which a recirc valve was included in the price, was meant to arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday (at the latest) however they hadn't arrived by the time I left so off I go. I got a couple of miles and the car was running very very rough, sounded like misfires and nearly cutting out, the engine warning light came on and engine was idling erratically between 1000 and 2500 RPM. Pulled over, took a look at engine, couldn't see anything obvious so shut the engine off, left it for a couple of minutes and re-started and all seemed fine. However 2 minutes up the road it started again, turned around and headed for Richard Henry in the hope it would be a quick fix. They put the diagnosis machine on it and it threw up a idle valve issue (I believe) and they had a look. Said that the dump valve was to blame as the diaphragm was gone. What could cause this? I took the dump valve off earlier this week just to check that the bolts would come off and put it straight back on. Could I have somehow caused this? Hopefully the recirc will arrive tomorrow and that will fix the issue. Although the company sent the wheels via UPS and the recirc via royal mail, odd but should be ok. Hopefully this run of bad luck will end soon and stuff will stop breaking and I can have a cheapish week or two!!!
  14. Yeah it was me who have these calipers, all working well with me, the feel and braking strength is better than before, although I did upgrade the discs and pads, so not 100% sure what is causing the most change but have had no problems what so ever with the calipers and they look nice. Only thing is that they are heavier than the standard brakes by about 750g I believe although it could be more.
  15. Called them and they said they only pay £60, which is more than I was offered so not too bad I guess
  16. Cusco on here buys them for refurb. worth asking him
  17. Do the revs drop down as well or just the counter? Is the car running ok, if the revs are dropping could be a misfire.
  18. Each wheel took me about the same time, were my only set of wheels so had to do it one by one around work
  19. I should be around over the summer and was planning on seeing it if possible so definitely could be interested.
  20. Not sure on name but he heard of us through Leeds_182 I beleive so worth asking him
  21. 146,8698 and running like a dream, Subaru engines are very strong and run high mileages with the right care
  22. Matty, no special tools required, a lot of sandpaper is all really and time and patience. Lots of time and patience. I will probably be doing mine over the next year depending on time and space. Took me about 4 days last time I did wheels, although only that quick because it was the middle of the hotspell in summer so drying times were quick. Pete, thanks for the offer, haven't decided on colour of wheels yet so not sure on what colour nuts I want. And I no rush, may get back to you once decided though.
  23. Will be doing the refurb myself, have done it before and not too tricky just a lot of time, and no where near £80 per corner. Looking more towards the graphite or dark grey at the moment
  24. I'm liking the look of graphite, nice colour and will go well with Silver
