  1. Glad to hear, should be on by Wednesday, in time for the drive down to London, make it much quieter
  2. Not a big fan of black wheels to be fair, was thinking something similar to how they are now or gold, always wanted gold wheels on a scooby
  3. As per title really, have a new set coming as these need a refurb and new tyres, not sure how to get the same finish as this though? Or maybe a change of colour. Help and opinions please people.
  4. Hey guys, Have managed to blag myself a standard recirc valve for little money, have an HKS BOV fitted at the moment. From what I can gather the one on at the moment isn't 100% atmospheric so recircs some air anyways, and as far as i can tell all i will have to do is unbolt, remove the hose and then bolt in the new one. Can someone confirm this? Assume the hose coming in is the vaccum hose and thats all i have to connect to the standard valve?
  5. That is a nice amount of bhp and torque, and nice and smooth, no sharp bumps, should be nice a driveable. And impressive with no Mods.
  6. Bought some new wheels so I can take the current ones off and give them a refurb. And it was cheaper than getting new tyres so thought why not. No harm in having a second pair of wheels. Oh and showed up a guy in his audi, trying to impress the girl he was with and couldn't resist, he though he had me for a while until the turbo came in, couldn't be bothered to switch down to second. Look of embarrassment on his face was priceless as was her laughing.
  7. I was talking to the guy before and told him that I do all my own work (tools and time permitting) and when finished the receptionist she said they would help if needed but new I did it myself. Didn't seem to try and get any business, even in buying new tyres (the back ones are cracking.) Was very impressed with the service in the end. Cheap cheerful and seemed to be interested in cars in general. As for the leak I think it is the gasket, had a look and the cat seems in good condition, the previous owner had a new exhaust fitted so it seems a bit quick for perishing, unless they used the old gasket to save a few £.
  8. Who knows. Said it was for the power steering. Threw me a bit but then they only charge £25 and are meant to do a decent job of it. Car feels better now and not pulling to the left so no complaints yet.
  9. Had a quick look today and seemed ok but will look again later. Obviously the guy doing the alignment was right under there and said it was the joint so assuming he had a quick look at the cat as well. Hopefully nice and easy to fix
  10. Hopefully it's just perished. Hopefully the cat isn't the problem.
  11. I give a thumbs up to Richard Henry's, good guys, good knowledge, and good prices.
  12. Went for a 4 wheel alignment today and the guy doing it told me there was an exhaust leak, he said it was at the Catalyst joint. From what I can tell that's the bit just after the cat? As in the joint which is the first level bit heading to the back of the car and part coming from the engine? Does that sound right? And would tightening the bolts fix it? Or worth just buying a new gasket and putting that in?
  13. Got a 4 wheel alignment done, removed the wiring that the old owner had in for the amp and sub in the boot.
  14. Not the greatest photo's and only a couple. Couldn't get any in front of the RH sign because they were playing with a car in front of store, and also !Removed! windy and cold to take photos
  15. Will put the pictures up tomorrow, not the best quality but a few came out ok. Was definitely a good start and a good few people. Will have another meet soon and hopefully have some better weather and on a more convenient day.
  16. That is a bargain, the parts alone cost me £80 each side (not genuine Subaru) and the labour does end up taking a while with bleeding, especially doing yourself. I would be happy with that price.
  17. Yeah got a few pictures. Was a bit windy and cold which I imagine put some people off. But good to meet some people. And now I have a better idea of what people want the next one can be organised better and hopefully with some nicer weather.
  18. That's probably a better way to do it. Much easier. Will probably do that next time.
  19. I take it the engine didn't blow the bottom end without the dry cranking then!! ;)
  20. Always make sure the filler plug comes off before draining anything. Read some good storied about people not being able to get the fill plug off after draining. And nearly done it myself, thankfully I stopped and checked. The front brakes do clunk a little in reverse. Although the 4-pots are prone to sticking (both of mine went within a week of each other.) Have a look at them while still on car and check general condition. I could tell which pistons were stuck within seconds. And understand what you mean about the rain, horrible to work in it.
  21. I filled up with v-power for the first time yesterday and is running much nicer than before. And am getting a loyalty card so make a little back, and will probably start checking MPG. Although my MPG goes down with every car, 50 with the Panda, then 31 with the MX5 and I feel this will be slightly less...
  22. I like the above photo made me chuckle, as did the whole post so far. Although I find the mirror distracting when you are in the car, but that's just my opinion and the photo's are extremely good, wish I could get some photo's that nice. And I find them deceptively fast, felt like I was hardly moving looked down and then decided brakes would be the best thing to touch.... And as for twats of drivers try living where I live, although I do enjoy the corsa's and astras trying to overtake and thinking they have a chance.... I do just let them go most of the time, unless duel carridgeway and safe. and the beemers which say M5 but sound a bit diesely to me. :) Never fails to put a smile on my face when they try to race and get angry when I am sat there just laughing away.
  23. The owner is Staying till 7 so we should be there still be there. Will pm you my phone number so you can call or text if unsure
  24. Remember peeps the meet is tomorrow, or today if you read this on Thursday. Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some cars:)
  25. Much easier once you have the correct tools. Only little hitch was after finished the plugs, looked around to check everything was back together, shut the bonnet, got changed out of dirty clothes for the test drive, came down started engine and it was misfiring. Cue mild panic, changing back to dirty clothes, thinking about which plug I messed up. Opened bonnet, and woops forgot to re connect the maf!!! Clipped it back in and acted like nothing had happened!!
