What have you done to your Subaru today ?
savage bulldogs replied to stants's topic in General Subaru Chat
Going to a photo shoot tomorrow with my local forum and a few mates so I've been cleaning the scoob most evenings this week after work . Soon as I finished sealing the wax Beading English weather [emoji5] -
I'm not up to speed on newage spec but I wasn't aware that newage had "shims" I thought it was only some v2sti ra's and v3/v4 sti's that had shims . My v1 sti and my v3 uk both have hydraulic lifters (lash caps) which don't have separate shims There's a few pdf manuals on here bud [emoji6] http://ken-gilbert.com/impreza-manuals

I've had minor sound lag (split second with no sound) and it crashed once and the ps4 turned itself off . But other than that I'm quite enjoying still working my way up the ranks and almost finished my second season . Fav handling car so far during career mode was a big old beemer in the m1 cup

Hi n welcome Glad to hear another early classic being saved [emoji106] Makes sense to let the garage do the rockers while they're doing the crank seal n oil separator plate . maybe get them to chuck some plugs in as well (cos they're quite fiddly too) Bear in mind they'll have to remove the clutch and it wouldn't cost anything for them to fit a new one when they put it back together [emoji6] There's a list of model codes on here somewhere, check the code plate on the front strut tower to know for sure what model you have -
Power Steering Pump & Electric Aerial GC8
savage bulldogs replied to Scrappy Doo's topic in Subaru Parts Wanted
Pump is still on the v3 uk shell which was my daily for 3yrs , so works fine fella but the last thing I posted ended up smashed to bits and post office wouldn't pay me any insurance money cos apparently car parts aren't insurable [emoji57] I've heard that the early pumps are prone to leaking but the only leak I get on my v1 is a slight weap from the lid . I'm unsure if you'd need the v3 onwards ps fluid cooling pipe (sits at the top of the rad) or whether the v1 /v2 "loop" pipe is long enough to reach the pipe on top of the v3 onwards set up (cos the pipe comes off the top at a different angle . V3 onwards with the cooling pipe over the rad My v1 with the "loop" cooling pipe -

Got a p.s pump as well to fit v3 (my 97) onwards as the earlier v1/v2 ones are different . £25 collected from Suffolk -
Front Bumper Lip for pre facelift Classic
savage bulldogs replied to Scrappy Doo's topic in Subaru Parts Wanted
I've got one £30 collected from Suffolk . It needs a coat of paint due to being pepperd with stone chips but it isn't cracked and has all the mounting brackets in situ -

Please help i'm at whits end...
savage bulldogs replied to 4758nigel's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Have you tried Unplugging and checking for corrosion on the big grey plugs at either end of the engine loom , same with the engine to inlet and bodywork earths . Do you not know anyone local with a compatible scoob that you can switch a few bits over to try and eliminate the issue . Not wanting to contradict your pal but I have known at least 3 knock sensor failures admittedly they've all been newage -
a few pics of my project so far
savage bulldogs replied to savage bulldogs's topic in Subaru Build Threads
I did wonder what you were up too but it makes sense now lol . I was a bit concerned about using a silicone elbow when I modded the fmic pipework for the reversed inlet . Cos even though its positioned after the turbo and has positive boost (won't suck flat) I thought it might "swell" too much causing a bit of lag . So I've pushed the hard pipes right into the elbow as far as possible and it didn't seem to "balloon" at all when on full chat (1.58 bar) on the dyno [emoji6] -
Can an auto Forester turbo be mapped?
savage bulldogs replied to david1972's topic in Subaru Forester Club
I know that some of the auto legacys can be mapped and even the gear changes improve through esl . So can't see why the newer ones can't be but will admit I don't know much about newage mapping options So -
Engine and gbox conversion
savage bulldogs replied to Rod1Dan's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Will you be doing all the work yourself ? Mine sets me back about 7k so far but I'd say I need about another 3k to tidy the paintwork and buy/map in a bigger turbo . Which would make it mint with 400+hp I'd try to find a jdm classic with a knocking engine and use it's shell as a base car . they do tend to be much cleaner than the salty underbelly of our uk's especially if recently imported (in the last 5yrs) -

Closed deck blocks were only in the 93/94 imprezas from the factory so you'll probably have to source the "cdb" separately. What sort of budget and power figures are you aiming for fella ? -
Sorry gaulson had to be said [emoji5] seeing as now it's back together and looking better than ever [emoji106] That's a weird one with the lock changing ghost I haven't played online yet and probably only done about 2.5 hrs in career on the ps4 you can customise your hud in the pit lane and save it there . I've done a full "mario" season ,race event in a megan cup ,a few races in the 250cc carts and started a event in a twitchy ruf porka which took some getting used to. Had a few restarts and ai set to 50 but I've won most of the races so far Main things i don't like are the practice sessions (waste of time at lower car class levels ) and apparent lack of tuning cars to higher classes . only tech fault I've found so far was when i adjusted the "sunlight glare" to subtle it was so bright I'm sure the image is permanently burned onto the back of my eyes wtf subtle my ar5e No frame drop ,sound lag controller miss function yet just a unforgiving driving sim like f1 or moto gp, rather than your "bouncing off the railings" arcade game . I'm hoping that it's not the best driving game the ps4 has to offer this year and i might change my mind once I've played it some more ,maybe I'm just a bit easy to please due to not having forza or gt to play [emoji57]

Do you mean the newage sti 6 speed box ? What version /year is your uk turbo ? As only certain year heads are compatible with certain inlet/fuel rail set ups . -
I'm sure that there's a tasteless joke I could think up about gaulson having to brake a bit earlier when approaching corners [emoji55]
-
I've not had any running issues with it on the ps4 and found that actual driving side of the game to be quite realistic once you get out of the carts in career mode . Will admit I've been missing forza and can't wait for gt but for now this looks like it will fill the gap for racing sims till then
-
I'm gonna blame tapatalk fookin with the menus "again" during the latest update [emoji55] Lol
-
Rs felt really heavy and unresponsive preferred driving the carts tbh as at least they went where you pointed them [emoji4] Yeah I started at the first class available (mario style) I assumed I'd be able to drive other classes once I'd started the career mode when ever I wanted but it looks like you've got to work your way up through the carts a bit before you can switch to a different class of car . Unless there's a option I missed while skipping the menu explanation with random slapping of the buttons after start up lol

My 94 sti running 330 + with a Uk ratio 6 speed gets about 28 on a run (keeping it under 3k) 25 average But 10 mins of "giving it the beans" and she will happily empty a quarter of a tank of shells finest
-
Dunno if I started career mode "wrong" with my inpatient button slapping but I've just spent the last 1 hr driving carts [emoji53] Did get a go (during career) in a rs focus in the wet but if they handle like that in real life...... I'm gonna find me some of those mo fo's on the road and scalp em in my classic at the weekend [emoji12] Did have a couple of solo races in a few different classes and so far so good [emoji106]

Private company parking tickets, I can advise!
savage bulldogs replied to majik_thighs's topic in Junk Room
My clamping scenario was back in 2003 and 5 skin heads with a gas axe is all you need to remove em [emoji39] Lol -
Downloading this for the ps4 atm as i couldn't wait till tomorrow for a hard copy . Thought it would take ages to download as it's 4gb but it only took 9 mins ,happy days

Private company parking tickets, I can advise!
savage bulldogs replied to majik_thighs's topic in Junk Room
I parked in my friends parking bay with a note saying what flat i was in if they wanted to check i was legit . I got clamped [emoji35] I asked him nicely to remove it with the owner of the parking bay standing next to me saying I had his permission to park in his space . He pretty much told me to fook off and slammed the door in our faces [emoji35] [emoji36] I made a phone call ten minutes later he was apologising while removing it . I'd like to think it was a shread of human decency that made him change his mind ..... But I think it was the 5 blokes with the oxytetracycline torch that turned up in a transit and threatened to cut the clamp and his car to bits [emoji4]
