Cheap Turbo blankets ?
savage bulldogs replied to savage bulldogs's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Cheers for that pete might give one a go then [emoji106] As although the pipework from fmic to throttle body is nice and cool[emoji41] the turbo to fmic pipework that passes over the turbo hotside, is to hot to touch after a spirited drive [emoji6] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Has anyone used one of the cheap turbo blankets off ebay ? Ideally to fit a tdo5 16g with a 7cm hotside . I don't want to spend a fortune on one due to hopefully upgrading the turbo next year . intake temps are good but, the fmic pipework over the turbo is getting warm and any little helps [emoji6] Even a cheap one should help surely ? I would defo prefer to buy a tried and tested one [emoji6] as I don't want a cheap Chinese bbg waiting to happen under the bonnet [emoji4] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Glad you made it and hope that it holds out for the rest of the journey :-) I assume you don't want to end up replacing the coolant and bleeding system you get back , but when you do you could take the thermostat out and drop it in some boiling water to see if it opens . just make sure you use a new gasket upon reassembly and take plenty of pics of the road trip .

I'm fairly sure that the baz had to put another engine in , but I only put the link up to point you in the general direction of what to check . Keep us posted and best of luck bud Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Have a squint at this thread fella it's a similar situation. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6471-new-problem-possible-head-gasket/page-2#entry37875 You'd have hydro carbons in the coolant , which can be detected by a "sniff test " if your headgasket had gone pressurising the water system .

in a few of the clips you see the drivers fly outta the cars like rag dolls [emoji4] And I thought the recent rally accidents were shocking but , these nutters take it to a whole new level Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Got sent this link which contains the worst driving I've ever seen .[emoji33] Don't watch it if you're squeamish about people getting run over [emoji16] http://m.liveleak.com/view?i=620_1341213161#mX5fFdsRtzTlqk6Z.01 Mods pls delete if deemed unsuitable

I'd say it's probably a tdo4 as well (good for 290 hp ish) I can't tell you which injectors should be in your foz , as I'm not up to spec with fozzies . But with supporting mods If there grey they'll be 380 cc (good for 290 hp ish) If there yellow they'll be 440cc (good for 340 hp ish) Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Bought this last night (ps4 ) quite chuffed with it so far , but will admit the controls are a bit cack handed . Looks like it will keep me occupied for quite a while due to the size of the map and amount of upgrades you can get . Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

If it's a tdo4 or tdo5 the id will be in the same location as in this pic Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

New member here...... hi everyone

Bought my p1 replica splitter from hta autos [emoji6] Mine was black plastic which tend to be less likely to crack than the fiberglass ones Here's a link to their site don't know if they've got a ebay site im afraid http://subaru-impreza-body-kits.co.uk/bonnet-scoops-roof-vents_6.html Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
What have you done to your Subaru today ?
savage bulldogs replied to stants's topic in General Subaru Chat
Today I be mostly touching up the little kerb marks on my new alloys [emoji35] It's not the wifes fault (apparently) it's cos they "stick out further than the old ones" Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
Just thought I would say hi new subaru owner from fife
savage bulldogs replied to Skiv's topic in New Members Introductions
Hi and welcome to soc , tidy looking classic you've got there [emoji106] Here's the thread with one of the vids from the Highland run http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6472-scooby-highland-fling. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk -
If it's a turbo version I'd have thought it would be based on a uk classic which has 215 to 220 depending on year . Tbo stanton would have a better idea of which impreza bits fit the foz [emoji6] With a Pannel filter , sports cat and a remap then you should see 260/270 . Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

WTB: Impreza GC8 Recirculation valve
savage bulldogs replied to Atlas's topic in Subaru Parts Wanted
No problem, glad you resolved it and your research on the forge recirc's has helped me . As i needed to decide which upgrade recirc would handle 25 psi as I'll have to get one when my oe one probably spits it's guts out next year :-)- 8 replies

Have you tried cross referencing the valve and gasket part numbers . I personally don't know enough about the later recirc valves to know if there the same Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk- 8 replies

WTB: Impreza GC8 Recirculation valve
savage bulldogs replied to Atlas's topic in Subaru Parts Wanted
Unsure about the v5 oe type but, the oe recirculation valve on my v3 ran fine @ 20 psi . I'd imagine that the forge piston type would handle more boost than a oe diaphragm type . Mabye drop them a email to confirm what psi their rated to ;-)- 8 replies

+1 for 555's being darker blue and having a plaque/boot sticker . Don't think I've seen a 2door 555 all the 555's I've seen have been saloons (might have seen a wagon with the graphics but unsure if it was a true 555). I think most type r's had dccd . V3 sti type r's are a lovely motor anyways and in most people's eyes it will be a bit special ...... Ahmm pics pls [emoji4] Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Lol Nice set of seats though are they for the wagon ? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Random topic of miles on the clock. What's yours
savage bulldogs replied to daz72scoobydoo's topic in General Subaru Chat
Clocks on my 97 uk shell say 103k but , tbo the clocks are probably the only bits that have done that amount of miles lol -
a few pics of my project so far
savage bulldogs replied to savage bulldogs's topic in Subaru Build Threads
Thanks fellas I only needed 6 mm spacers so my speedline chronos cleared the 4 pots , so I just bought some ally multi fitment spacers from my local motor maina . As for breaking the sti it should be the end of next month (busy work shedule pending ) so once we set a definite date I'll get some pics n prices up . but matt don't worry I haven't forgotten your dibs on the coilovers ;-) -

savage bulldogs replied to Atlas's topic in Subaru Parts Wanted
If you cannot find a oe replacement forge do a v5/v6 recirculation valve which looks the same . http://www.dcperformance.co.uk/uprated/forge-dump-valves-and-accessories/subaru/impreza.html Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk- 8 replies

savage bulldogs replied to mrmadmatt's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Sorry to hear that matt at least you can cross faulty turbo off the list as that one was of my own car . what ecu has it got in it ? Have you got any ecu codes ?(if it's a subaru ecu) Have you checked the wiring to the o2 and map sensor , dump valves not leaking ? Have you tried running "actuated boost" which is to just run a vacuum pipe from the actuator to turbo inlet (should give you 0.5 bar) . hope you get it sorted fella
