My mapper (Clive attowe ) has been mapping since 1982 in his own premises. You'll struggle to find a bad review / comment about him , he's not a "scooby specialists" but he's probably mapped more scoobies than most in the past 30 odd years . His dyno cell is mint and doesn't over inflate figures, he doesn't sell anything but will fix just about everything. shame your so far away but I gave "Clive attowe reviews " a google and this popped up . http://www.aftermarketonline.net/Technical/2015/30290-/Garage-visit-to-Clive-Atthowe-Tuning His bread n butter is now mainly vag stuff but the only scooby software he doesn't use is esl , hence why I used jgm for my v3 uk at attowes dyno . They both had a lot of mutual respect for each other and I felt quite lucky to have them both looking over my car at the time . There's plenty of opinions expressed about who's hot and who's not but for locality to you I'd say speak to engine tuner and if it's local enough , pop in for a power run and a chat before you dip your hand in your pocket again . As you can make your own mind up and try before you buy [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
savage bulldogs replied to stants's topic in General Subaru Chat
Tbh I was only supposed to be ordering some fast road pads but I noticed 1 of the rear existing braided lines had been rubbing on the bodywork since I fitted the coilovers. I just ended up impulse buying a full set [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -
I'm running pretty much the same spec in my 94 sti and I built the engine myself too but I've got a smaller turbo and injectors. It's a fairly unusual turbo choice too aps sr40 which is basically a garret gt28rs with a 8cm hotside. It's stock location and should be good for 400hp but it was only £200 so I thought it was worth a punt 😎 I haven't got it mapped in yet so I've just turned it down to 1 bar untill I do . If you know your way round a boxer build feel free to join in or add any advice on any of the threads here . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Only other decent mappers I can think of that would come to a dyno of your choice (mobile mappers) are Andy forest and Bob rawl. Both of them are normally difficult to get hold of due to being so busy . I've never delt with Alan Jeffrey (engine tuner) but he has a good rep and was helpful via email with some questions I had a while back If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Bought a full set Goodrich braided brake lines and some friction performance front brake pads for the brembos Hopefully they'll have better bite from cold than the current red stuff pads . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -
Think the beta ends on the 8th of September. Definitely be getting it on the ps4 , even though I did get a bit miffed with the nob jockeys running me over on their horses [emoji23] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Classic Impreza headache problem
savage bulldogs replied to scoobywrx19's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Your welcome mate , you nearly always get a reply on here . We like to help if possible Do you know if your injectors are the right ones for the ecu (phase 1 grey 380's or yellow 440's ) did you use new "o" rings when you fitted them ? Do you know if the fpr is reading true ? as a slight change in pressure can make a big difference to the fueling . Thought I'd add I once connected the coil packs on cylinder 1 &3 the wrong way round [emoji55] it ran lumpy on 2 cylinders and even drove up to 3k . If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -
Hi n welcome , some choice mods and nice figures you've got there bud [emoji106] Do like a early classic me [emoji6] always nice to see one in good nick that's had time n effort spent on it [emoji41] I have heard of a few people running derv truck turbos and getting good results . Are they standard location or custom rotated ? If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

I pay the same tax on my 05 plate 1.3 cdti combo van as I do for my 94 sti [emoji15] Although it should be almost half that for the van, apparently it's the "heavy load" version so it's a higher tax bracket . I'm fairly sure that I won't be buying a Renault derv anyways but it goes to show that the influx of new "small smart derv city cars " that we were influxed with a few years ago ..... Weren't so smart after all [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Exhaust leak
savage bulldogs replied to Sandals's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Sometimes you can get away with re using the turbo outlet gaskets but they're a "crush" type gasket and don't always reseal properly. I used a bit of exhaust assembly paste once before just to see me through untill I got a new one but it's not recommended to use in pre cat locations. Admittedly my catted downpipe was in the shed at the time [emoji23] Did you nip the bolts up evenly ? As you might be lucky enough to just undo the bolts a bit , support the downpipe (with a jack and a block of wood) to close the flanges together at the right angle and re tighten them . Otherwise it's a new gasket, bud If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -

Had a box with ally pipework from "ash" turn up today 😎 so I had a quick "play" to see if I can find a neater way of re routing the intake pipe work by getting a custom hard pipe welded up . It not looking as easy as I'd hoped but I like a challenge and was never any good at tetris anyways [emoji39] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -
It depends on what year sti or wrx and whether it's a uk or jdm version . Generally the sti has all the above plus better cams ,headgaskets and forged pistons . So for instance a 04 wrx would probably be at its limit at 360 hp . Whereas a 04 jdm sti would be good for 450 hp, have better brakes and a much stronger 6 speed box. No problem ,bud . Unfortunately sparks ain't really my thing . there's a link to free pdf files on 1 of the first few pages of my sticky build thread on here which will have the diagrams on . The loom earth should bolt onto the inlet manifold with a earthing "eye" just behind the start of the fuel hard lines (above cylinder 4 ) Keep us posted and best of luck If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -

It definitely sounds like a electrical issue to me , seeing as it idles ok with the maf and tps unplugged. Does seem strange that your not getting any codes up though . When you reset the ecu (I think) the boost solinoid and relays "click" ect . Does it do that ? , Ie is the reset /eml light definitely working ? If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -

savage bulldogs replied to scoobywrx19's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
Has it definitely got a jdm ecu in it ? Changing the tps or icv can cause issues if the manual adjustment is in a different position . As the ecu thinks it's in a different position . Have you attached the engine loom earth to the inlet manifold? Did you reinstall the ignition igniter behind the boost solinoid bracket. As this is by passed when doing a newage coil pack conversion? If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -

When you say different inlet manifold, was it the same as the original (phase 1 ) ? Or was it the later phase 1.5 with the single coilpack in the centre of the inlet manifold ? If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -

savage bulldogs replied to Owen369's topic in New Members Introductions
Happy dayz . I'd suggest to get some three bond liquid gasket sealer for the block halves and sump .As cheaper stuff is known not to last . If they're not included in the full gasket set , turbo outlet ,up pipe and header oe gaskets. Dunno if you want to go the whole hog and get timing idlers and tensioner too [emoji6] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊 -
I personally don't like stickers/graphics[emoji55] but I do like originality and things that are different to the norm [emoji106] If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Yeah tbh I'd settle for a trouble free mapping session but before and after graphs would've been nice to see how much difference in hp it's made . Rather than just knowing that the turbo outlet pipe is much cooler to the touch. If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

I was lucky enough to find these with nearly new discs and pads for £350 [emoji41] Admittedly They normally go for about £450 second hand If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
