  1. Welcome. And I have the same problem as you I keep wanting to spend money on mine :D And I'm getting sick of eating dried rice ;)
  2. I had one of mine done about 2 months ago. And yes you do need to have a tool that pushes them into the hub. Only reason I know this, I took it to my mate, who own's a garage and he let's me linger around like a bad smell. So I was watching them change it cost me £130 I think it was. But will need it doing again soon as he told me the Hub was F@@ked :D and could order me one in, but would be with out the car for a few day's. Wich was no good to me at the time so i had him fit it anyway. I think my mate got me the bearing for £30 new so would just ring around some auto shop's or try a main dealer, I rang mine for the hub and bearing £160 for both I didn't think was bad at all for a main dealer I would also ring some garages up and see what they would charge as I don't think it's a job you could do with out the tools :(
  3. Sound's Interesting. You will have to keep us all posted, and maybe show us some video's of it's test drive's. Best of luck
  4. As the title say's. Still a lot of work to do. but am happy that it booted up, and shut's down fine. Still need to get the screen fitted in, but have a problem with the size of the screen and the aircon/fan speed controls, mean's I'm going to have to play around with it. Maybe with an Angle grinder some sticky tape, and lot's of band aid's But here's a video. Skip to about 50 seconds if you don't want to watch the boot up it's boring :D And Angry Birds Star Wars ;)
  5. Hi mate. And welcome to the forum's. :)
  6. Look's nice mate. What polish you been using mate. Just out of intrest
  7. Ouch sound's like your getting stuck well into it :P . Told you the oil change was easy ;) And like you I have just been playing around with the wire's, all good fun Well least you getting it sorted now
  8. Every man love's quality flap's ;) mine are from Subarubit's, not the cheapest place but there very well made. But would have a surf on ebay also, but run the risk that there not that great. Hope this help's http://www.subarubit...ubaru Mud Flaps Wow I can't remember paying that much but that's where mine are from
  9. Best thing everyone who has a car could do, would be to refuse the black box. I know when I was looking at quote's I came across one insurance company that wanted to put a black box in my car. And they can see everything, where you drive, what speed's you do, what time's you drive, how many mile's you do it was capped to 5k mile's a year, after that you had to pay like a top up. For me with out getting to political as it bore's me lol. To many idea's from the EU
  10. I hate to say it but I use Fleebay for alot of stuff, if I'm not buying genuine part's I will only use Blueprint filter's. And I always ring round the motor part's shop's. I have a few near me called Unipart and Cook's. They both supply to garages. And all they do is ask for the Reg of your car and will let you know if they have it in stock. And if they do get it wrong atleast it's easy enough to take back And no you will be fine, it wont blow up lol. its that easy I could do it at the side of the road I'm sure of it :)
  11. Some oldish Picture's the Blobeye now has a STI spoiler on And the garage floor is now blue I'm just working on spraying a Subaru star's and stripe's on the floor lol. Sad I know B)
  12. Welcome to popping your Cherry on both ;) And to S.O.C Not do it any harm to change the oil filter and oil and spark plug's. Might be worth doing the fuel filter as well for peace of mind. There Sooo easy to work on. I can do basic work on car's like all the above. And disc breaks and pads. But with the Spark plugs being where they are on the car I get my mate to change mine lol. But he has better tools for the job then I do.
  13. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/347695/Road-tax-to-be-scrapped Sound's like the worst thing to happen to anyone one who drive's a car, since the price of fuel got heavily taxed. I belive this is the term kite flying. Putting another stuoid idea out and see which way it fly's
  14. What to do to my car next

  15. I blame the people with the red clipboard's, that go around saying "You can't do that it's not safe. you should all drive around in a Toyota Prius"
  16. All Looking great. And love the Air in take
  17. Fully agree. And I know some Insurance company's don't use original manufacturer's parts, does that mean insurance would have to go up as well. And people who have had LPG conversions and so on. Pfft make's my blood boil lol
  18. Welcome to the SOC Nice looking car mate
  19. Welcome to the SOC Let's face it you was always going to be getting another Subaru?... Right? :D
  20. Welcome to the SOC What I would look out for is, under the car see if the owners have been off roading i.e scrape's and gashes under the car. listen for knock's and look for any sign's of oil around the engine. Normal stuff really. Check it's history and see if you can find out what Oil they have been using. Hope this help and look foward to seeing your new motor. And good choice of car to buy ;)
