Sounds like he might be playing with you to force your hand. Tried something similar with me initially when I reported my probs. Offered me money back and said he'd list it for sale for more money as he'd had so many enquiries. Bought my car from there last year. Had a few issues (crack in windscreen that I didn't spot, but still passed mot!) and shot rear shocks. Jason replaced the shocks and brake pads and rear discs for me at same time. I replaced windscreen although he offered once realised I wasn't taking the ****. He also did cambelt as part of sale.
