  1. Brand - Falken Ziex 914 Size 215/55/17 Approx Cost £63 a corner + fitting Opinions/ pros & cons you've come across - price was a big factor in buying these, along with the EU ratings for fuel econ/grip/noise - no problems with grip, but seem to be a bit noisier than I was expecting based on the EU rating. Don't think I will buy again - will probably go for Goodyears or Michelin Crossclimate EDIT - the noise ended up being down to failing wheel bearings - would consider again now as a very good mid-range tyre but will probably be going for 'the best out there', regardless of price next time
  2. Well, so much for that. No signs of life there at all this morning and all shuttered up. Going to just monitor for now as noise has reduced markedly since I jet washed in and around the wheels on Wednesday. Hoping it was just a build up of salt n **** from the roads...the council have gone mad with it the last 2 weeks round here. Hope so, as could do without throwing hundreds at it at the minute [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. As mentioned earlier, the earlier diesels have known issues...if this had those, it will cost you as much as the car itself to put right. If it were petrol it'd be a no brainer, but just bear this in mind Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh yeah, so they are.......sweet

  6. Are these a whole hub or just the bearing? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Subaru-Legacy-3-0-R-SPEC-B-BLE-BPE-OE-Rear-Hub-Wheel-Bearing-Kit-complete-EZ30D-/262142847940?fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru%7CModel%3AOutback%7CCars+Year%3A2005%7CPlat_Gen%3ABL%2C+BP%7CCars+Type%3A3.0&hash=item3d08ee6bc4:g:sdYAAOSwMTZWRdrI http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=5594&cat=96&sub=501&sec=846&var=39&dc=0&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart=
  7. Yes, that's what I'm thinking Adam. There is a garage at the end of our estate. Not a scoob specialist but well thought of round here I believe. Gonna call in Friday morning for a chat with them. Thanks for all the advice guys, greatly appreciated as ever. Going to have a trawl of t'internet tonight for parts. What is lpc Adam? Also any other recommended sites or brands, or should I just look for oem spec stuff? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I assume neither are jobs for a rank amateur? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yeah; swmbo not impressed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Terrible metal on metal grinding noise this morning, along with the recurring sticky brake pad. Rang garage as brakes need replacing all round soon anyway - £700 to supply and fit discs and pads all round - then another £700 per pair for new hubs
  11. Nice choice [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. lol if only i had it chaps......

  15. Starting to think it is just the !Removed! new tyres making the noise; not much if anything there this morning. Sticky brake pad has returned. Think I'll change discs and pads all round before mot in July...were due at next service in December anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That is crazy what's the inspiration - TETRIS?

  21. We would buy a brz next year but there don't seem to be any autos knocking around...means we will end up with an 86 as it will be for swmbo....plenty of choice around £15k already Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. None of this tonight, but I'm getting a lot of 'noise' at speeds over 30mph....can't believe it's my relatively new falken tyres (be !Removed! if it is) so can only assume it's one or more bearings on the way out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. 2008 wouldn't be 'later design,...I think your looking post 2014 for that. Dogconker may be able to confirm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Loose or sticky brake pad ? Or it could be your "non wrx" causing a severe lack of "sweet looking foz sti "[emoji87] If it's not broke .....upgrade it [emoji4] [emoji14][emoji14][emoji14] both as likely mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
