  5. yep, yep, my Forester is a 2006 -> MY06 ;)
  6. did again a power steering fluid change after some driving and it was more clean then before. also the power steering pump was not making noise when turning the wheel. but might do it one more time after some more driving to get all the drab out.
  7. enjoy; some years back when in South Africa i had a Cheetah crossing the road in front of us, a moment i never forget. B) so beautiful and elegant that animal moves! of course we were too late to get our camera out. :(

  9. you can better use it by times to make sure it get lubricated.
  10. mine MY06 is an auto box and they never had a low gear ratio. with an auto box i don't really see the need for low ratio gear IMHO.
  11. @antlockyer are you still after this one on eBay as i can also use one. the current one is being attached (more eaten) by the cargo of the previous owner (a farmer who used her as a Hilux) if not i will bid on it

  16. @OP; do you have any doc about the alarm with the car? keys can be re-programmed to work, this is written in the alarm manual the antenna is integrated in the ring around the ignition key house. now i really don't know if this is your issue as i have no experience with Subaru. when i had my Sorento there were some bad antenna batches causing these problems you describe and replacing them sorted it. if needed i can scan my alarm manual so you can try to re-program both keys but you WILL need the code what the alarm installer worte on a piece of paper. what about the batteries of both keys?
  17. yep, yep, that's correct, only one button open/close
  18. having the fogs on at times is a good idea as keeping the moisture out no idea about the legal requirements, sorry
  19. this 'Josh' was asked by Subaru US to drive the new Forester. have a look at his YouTube channel for more info. also how this Forester saved his life after a non fault crash. some points to think about when choosing a car.
  20. yep, yep, plenty of 'P' drivers (boy racers) about, very scary at times :o
  21. has some time and installed my 'old' and hacked Pioneer AVIC-F700BT and a Kenwood KAC-5205 amp in bridged mode given by my brother. still using the stock speakers as i'm not really wanting to spend £ in a car. to connect the SWC i used these parts from Halfiords as being around the corner; autoleads PC29-677 (usc Subaru) £3.99 autoleads PC29-PIO (patch lead for Pioneer) £17.99 removed a pile of crap made by TrafficMaster as i cannot see the reason if this kind of pay systems as a smartphone does a better satnav job IMHO! anyway got some sounds as being able to stream internet radio (ie Groove from New Zealand) from my iPhone so no need to listen to the boring UK radio stations. that Pioneer i hacked years ago so can use any maps i want and has better menu system as stock oh, the Kenwood drives the stock sub in bridge mode below 50Hz...
  22. this is actually what a Forester can do;
