  1. http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/engine-modifications/155295-how-air-box-silencer-delete.html I have ones to detango headlights and also unsqueek seat belts if those are of interest
  2. I'll dig out a link to the instructions I used. No cutting needed so u can put it back.
  3. No I didn't notice any performance loss at all. If you start looking into DVs you'll find views that it reduces power, damages engines or does nothing but make a nice sound. I've also read people returning to an OEM recirc and saying they have noticed a performance gain. My conclusion was that it wouldn't help me with what I wanted to get out of the car so I would spend my money on the other stuff for now. It's one of those sensitive subjects like religion or politics!
  4. don't know what the hell is going wrong with my post... :o
  5. Hi Mate and welcome. I'm in a similar position to you. Mrs isn't really into the kind of cars I like. I'm also travelling 100 miles a day round the m25, so I dont want a spine shattering ear slitting car. I bought a standard 2004 WRX and have been tweaking with the above in mind. So far I have, 1. Replaced the backbox peashooter exhaust with a WR Sport exhaust. It's made by ProDrive and it was an optional extra when the car was originally sold. This has given it the nice Scoobie burble. Sounds great but isn't extremely loud like some of the other exhausts.I did fit some sound deadening in the boot and rear wheel arches to deaden some of the exhaust sound as it was getting to me in traffic. Would have been fine if it was a weekend car or I just drove 1hr a day. 2. Did a snorkel delete. Snorkel sits in the drivers wing and redirects the air to quieten it down before feeding the air intake. Took me about 20 mins to do, was a free mod and gives a nice sound under heavy acceleration. 3. Fitted a upgraded Fuel pump. My Scoobie specialist mechanic recommended this to help wit the remap. 4. Replace standard panel air filter with a pipercross. My Scoobie specialist mechanic recommended this too to help wit the remap. I will get it remapped soon. I'm not after a huge amount more power. Just want to better utilise the VPower I'm sticking in it, bit more mid range and faster pickup. In my view: I don't think there is much point fitting an induction kit unless you want big big power. I also don't think there is a point in fitting the DV unless you like the noise and it's not going to annoy the mrs. I do like the sound but I drove one car where it just really annoyed the hell out of me, it was really loud (on 100% vent?) and went off every gear change. Regards Justin
  6. Congrats mate. What colour? And pics? :)
  7. Have you tried Matty at MBDevelopments? He's a scooby breakers. Very helpful fella. He's in the trade section of Scoobynet I do like the dark blue [emoji3]
  8. I have auto updates on so I know I have the latest. I've left mine plugged in, it must need a very low charge. I've had it constantly plugged in for a few months. I think the longest I had the car out the front was three days without using it and I've not had a problem so far with the battery. I can get a signal from it when I'm sat in my front room. Has anyone got the Avg mpg and oil working,
  9. I bought the sane reader without fast delivery [emoji16] I've been using DashCmd. It's pretty good. You can configure dashboards etc. Im a bit disappointed avg MPG is out and I can't get the oil gauge to work. Perhaps I need to refine the settings.
  10. I feel for you mate. My back went a few years ago and I've never been in so much pain and discomfort. Hope you feel better soon
  11. Cheek of the tw@t. Definitely report it to the police, especially if you have some pain. You never know could go on for months. Should be fast and easy to do and the police will give him some stick id expect.
  12. Hawk is £500 road tax and blob is £280. That and the engine rep of the 2.5 put me off...oh and the fact the front of the hawk looks like a Seat Leon in my opinion [emoji16]
  13. `The second time I watched it a bit more closely and it did look a bad jolt. What was his reason for buggering off?
  14. Interesting you say that. I used to have classic cars (50's, 60's, 70's) and they hated Shell regular petrol. Made them run very roughly. Any other petrol station was fine..,Esso, BP, Texaco etc
  15. Damn, I saw your post of your new headlights and I immediately thought back to my experience a month ago. I took the apart. One I put back together using a hairdryer and the other I decided needed sealant. The one I didn't seal let in condensation...took me about an hour to remove the headlight, hairdryer the headlight bone dry then seal it up the rubber sealant. It's rained and I've washed it a few times now and it's been fine [emoji3]
  16. Thanks for posting that mate. Blimey that is an eye opener. I'm quite anal about that sort of thing but I just wouldn't expect that kind of insanity.
  17. Outback is that? Blimey. Thought the Impreza was a flaff but wasn't that bad! I don't like how everything is attached by what could be described as brittle poppers.
  18. We all do that daahn saaff mate.
  19. It looks expertly done mate. Very impressed with the quality of the finish :) Every time you look at it now though you're ganna see a ginger !Removed! Lovely looking car mate. Where do you live? I'm Reigate just north of Gatwick. My family live in Arundel and Rustington.
  20. It's got a Brazillian [emoji15] Looks great mate...I like Brazillians [emoji2]
  21. Yep...and..., Move to a nicer area and buy a cheap 1.0ltr car and don't get caught speeding etc [emoji12]
  22. Oh ok [emoji2][emoji106] on phone so didn't see it.
  23. I don't think it is. I think that's why the breakers always state the mileage figure when they sell a dash cluster.
  24. I went to see a car in Kent and the fella was 26. He was paying £150 a month I think he said. Gambit, shall we do an insurance sticky? Seems to be a very popular question. I can put something together if you like?
