  1. Parts probably cost me £100 for pair of wings and £150 for bumper and arch liners it was the respray and fitting that cost £2500 you can get resprays cheaper but I wanted a top notch job,as I said I would probably fit wings and bumper myself then get a bodyshop to paint and blend it in will then look top notch as it looks a nice example now ,probabley be about £500 to paint wings and bumper and blend into doors. You would be very lucky to fit second hand parts and the colour match perfect but it comes down to cost and how good you want the final finish
  2. My build is on page 2 of gallery and showroom under scooby 1972 cheers Phil..😎
  3. Hi Naz I did this on my wagon looks so much meaner have a look at my gallery...you will need wings front bumper and wheel arch liners off a saloon..I had a full respray with it being silver even with a blend into the doors I would have been able to tell..but with your colour a blend into front doors by a good bodyshop should look great it all bolts on and off so you could fit them yourself to keep costs down..
  4. Looking amazing did you do prep and respray yourself 😀
  5. Or just use a open ended spanner to check bar thickness if you don't have a gauge 😁
  6. I got a separate plain key cut and then cut the old one off after reprogramming fob so I have the key fob for opening and closing car and on the same keyring the key starts it and immobiliser starts car off fob hope that makes sense...😀
  7. Maybe needs a fluid change as it's breaking down under temperature 😀
  8. Yours would be classed as a dark colour if it has a few swirls marks as they usually do a good way to bring it up first is ultimate compound by megui rs 😀😀
  9. I've tried most brands on the market and at the minute I'm happy with poor boys products easy to apply and remove use the black glaze for dark cars or the white glaze for lighter cars then seal in with nattys wax by poor boys, also had good results with megui res products..I've tried autoglym and mers that everyone raves about and found them hard to remove and left a lot of powdery residue also not that impressed with dodo juice but just my two cents from my own experience 😀
  10. Hi stants I also own a 2001 206 gti will take a pic of the loom over the weekend and post it ,not easy the wiring on the 206 especially if it's multiplexed like my gti that means everything goes through a bsi unit which you can damage just disconnecting the battery there's a special procedure on line you must follow to put it to sleep first..it's usually the higher spec models which are multiplexed and if it's got a stalk for stereo near indicators...
  11. You can buy a special wheel lock removal tool and do it yourself have a look on ebay..
  12. I just split and rewired mine on my bug eye took a bit of work with a test lamp to no which wire does what but got there in the end, from what I remember new lights needed a separate earth to work but plenty of places to use..
  13. Turbo monkeys on ebay may have one....
  14. 5/40 is fine for all but the big power scoobys millers is great oil but always use a genuine black oil filter from scoobyparts or icp...as someone else mentioned the gauges might be set to alert to a problem at to low a pressure or temp which has been highlighted by hot weather not sure how you adjust those gauges maybe someone with them could help...have you now checked cooling fans are coming on without air con I, m sure if they weren't car would have seriously overheated in recent hot weather i think it's the gauges need that adjusting presumably you,ve not had any dash light warnings as well...☺
  15. Wouldn't of thought fans would affect the oi,l coolant fans on these cycle every few minutes on a scooby when stationery especially in recent weather ,maybe oil grade is to thin or oil needs changing when was it last changed and do you no what grade was fitted, subaru recommend 5/30 grade oil but I was told by a well known subaru specialist it's to thin especially in hot weather ?
  16. Hi if you want to send you're address will send you one through the post i have a few spares always happy to help a fellow scooby owner,I, m not sure of the rules of sending addresses out or how you do it if someone could let you no... Cheers Phil 👌
  17. Had the same thing turned out to be a very small leak at bottom of radiator but after a drive engine heat would dry it up so you couldn't see it....spotted it by accident when I only drove a short distance then jacked car up and had a good look round when doing another job😂

  20. Hi saw a nice blue blob in Cheadle car park today with front reg plate on the dash it was a 55 plate was hoping to see someone to speak to but no look nice car by the way..
  21. Only way to be sure is take timing covers off and check all the alignment is right or get a reputable garage to check it for you no reason it should be wrong if he,s a good mechanic but one thing you don't want to be worrying about is the timing belt...😊
  22. Glad it's not just me this happens to phew 😂I do what stants does from cold and a couple of dips ..

  25. You can kill a clutch very quickly if the previous owner had held it on hills on the clutch or just not been very sympathetic on gear changes always telling my sister put the handbrake on when on a hill but never listens her clutch went again last week 😯
