  1. K&N Panel filter arrived - took a couple of weeks as had to wait for shipment from US - apparently none in the UK at all
  2. sorry you had to sell but at that price it wasn't going to hang about
  3. well you know what they say - if there are no photos it hasn't happened
  4. Running mafless can cause the engine to run rich on idle - great for cars spending a lot of time on tracks etc but not so great for a daily driver. If it is an ESL board particularly an original V1 I found out yesterday it would be better to upgrade to a newer one as you can do live mapping instead of flash wait run monitor tweak repeat. Allegedly the early mafs are more robust than the later ones of 99/00. Whatever you do decide with the injectors ensure they are matched as there are variances of the flow rates
  5. Wotcha and welcome
  6. Wotcha and welcome - green gold, great colour combo
  7. As Matt says - dynos are a reading of what the car is doing at that time in relation to the ambient temperature etc - so many factors affect the readings and the same car can differ day to day - but what you will achieve irrespective of the final power figure is a car matched to the physical changes you have made.
  8. That is true but we didn't buy it with fuel economy as a priority, function first and foremost

Good point - it is a mod from standard after all so should be shared with insurance company
  10. Wotcha and welcome - yup get some photos taken and post in the parts for sale section, using something like photo bucket and then podting a link gives great large picture results
  11. Wotcha and welcome - yup as Matt said - drop some weight (rear seats etc) and look at chassis upgrades
  12. completed the ESL mapping course - great day - stacks of info but filled a big gap in my knowledge of engines and engine tuning - now browsing the classifieds.... mmm mutter dribble ,drool, launch control.... anti lag.... flat foot shifting.... pop pop bang.... wibble
  13. before hitting the dyno - factor in cost of a good service, oil, filters, plugs (with gap set) etc also check when the last time the fuel pump was changed - if it is the original consider a replacement, what state the coil packs are in. Point of note you can have a great engine ruined by a bad map so I would approach 'cheap and cheerful' with caution
  14. Wotcha and welcome ☺
