  1. Still a lot of challenges on that continent for sure - certainly not going to be fixed over night
  2. there are always two sides to the story - one persons freedom fighter is another persons terrorist - the situation back then cried out for change that was how some people chose to approach it.
  3. yes knowing the bolts supplied are incorrect is useful info - have you fed back to the suppliers as well?
  4. best approach - take your time and get it looking spot on, as well as working right - just like Savagebulldogs thread
  5. looking good buddy!! would have to see the spoiler in perspective of whole car as the darkened garage doesn't give any depth so will reserve comment until you can get a photo 3/4's or side on of the car :)
  6. nah that would be the smell country bouy :P
  7. good times :D
  8. those models come with a an SI drive dial - 3 different modes - Intelligent, sport and sport sharp - its just various sizes of grin really :D
  9. Drive them both and then make your decision, they are different experiences ;)
  10. Some Legacys do have turbos - so you could have the best of both worlds. Turbos can be reliable if maintained / looked after as Gambit said - warming up / cooling down etc. WRT the WRX and police attention there is the spec D model with is very understated - also it tends to be how you drive and where you are which can attract the attention not necessarily the car
  11. not driven those - M18 is closest I have got driving past
  12. reminded me of driving along the M4 at night :D
  13. Wotcha and welcome - there is an wagon Impreza - this one is not exactly a shrinking violet ;) http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/3287-my-uk-wagon/ This Fozzie is slightly more subtle but will still haul when it needs to http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1843-my-forester-25xten/ More room but impreza type drive go for the Legacy R Spec B
  14. What makes it more frustrating is you cannot throw the tool you are holding either :D
  15. I have done that before on many an occasion :D
  16. Red or black for me
  17. The calculations dont work as simply as that due to numerous other factors that all affect the flow rate of air in and out of the engine plus inertia of components and compression ratios. Ill try and break the statements and answer individually for clarity. The NA vs turbo debate for equal BHP (power) relates to how the power is delivered. The power for the NA engine is there straight away so giving drive earlier. An equivalent power turbo engine has a delay while the turbo comes up to speed (spooling up) and thus pressurising the air intake - this increases the air fuel mixture (due to density) crammed into the chamber giving a bigger bang, this is how smaller capacity engines with a turbo can generate the same power as larger capacity NA engines. The engine characteristics between the legacy and the impreza are different not only because of the size but also because of the turbo setup and the tune, they are designed to be different drives, nice fat torque spread against a more active driver engagement to stir the gearbox and keep the motor buzzing - the Spec R legacy though could be some what more of a beast so dont count that in this train of thought. I would advise driving both as I believe (having driven a couple of vectras) you will find both cars really enjoyable to drive but I think you will struggle to draw theoretical comparisons when you start to take into consideration power to weight ratios between the vauxhall and the subarus - its not just about the individual numbers but the sum of all parts
  18. Wotcha and welcome - a few members with classics on the forum so hopefully the answer will be along shortly I do know later cars a have a slightly wider track on the sportier models but I dont know if that is true for the classic
  19. Wotcha and welcome - cant go wrong with either of those models :)
  20. You could get a replacement aerial lead or go for a roof mount if you fancy tweaking a little more something like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Van-BEE-STING-radio-aerial-black-/380778993491?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item58a8325753 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Standard-Shark-Fin-Aerial-Antenna-Car-Van-New-Universal-Radio-AM-FM-/350879335953?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item51b209c611
  21. isnt it just a cable - nothing too high tech??
  22. Oilman (Tim) of Opie oils will point you in the right direction - might even be able to sort some forum discount for you
  23. That is certainly a great place to test drive
  24. Its a digital signal kit for the radio. the idea is you connect the kit to your existing aerial lead and you tune your radio to a particular frequency which is the signal coming from the digital kit, you then change stations using the digital tuner getting digital radio stations instead of your current head unit. here is an example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brand-New-Pure-Highway-DAB-Digital-Radio-In-Car-or-Portable-AUX-In-Out-ICT-/261111313161?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item3ccb727309
