  1. sometimes it works out sometimes it doesnt - one of those things you take a punt
  2. Wotcha and welcome - does indeed look like an impressive piece of kit, as Gambit suggested start a thread under the sales section and see if there is any interest generated
  3. me three - have the heads skimmed this time as they may have warped On teh plus side as it didnt happen immediately I would say that rules out any cracks caused by running the car with little coolant

    How long ?

I havent had a problem with mine - they do shine white but look blue when not illumiated, I posted a thread when I swopped them somewhere on here - will be a year or so old now so will do some digging - also went through MOT no problem either
  5. All about the time and the place - not something I was concerned about in my youth but it is a big consideration now
  6. echo what Gambit said but if the discs are in good condition at the moment just doing the hoses with braided items and flushing through with fresh Dot 5.1 will make a difference to feel
  7. Wotcha and welcome - they are very infectious :D
  8. chap by us has got one - nice looking motor - dont know much about them mind you :D
  9. Sounds like you are in the best position then - I would look at a wider advertising reach as collectors / enthusiasts will travel for the right car
  10. the product and DPF treatment will work for all diesels ;)
  11. Opie do have the grades you have been recommended and all the top names, we do get a forum members discount with them so as Stanton said it would be worth contacting Oilman (Tim) http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-gear-oils.aspx most recent offer on Gulf oils... http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/3698-20-off-gulf-ngk-denso-kn-25-off-trico/
  12. Wotcha and welcome - post as many questions as you need, we are lucky enough to have a fair amount of experience on the forum so should be able to help out
  13. They do vary I saw examples through last year going from 4500 to just under 9000. If you are in no hurry to sell I would decide on a price that you would be happy letting it go for - if it is a mint example the right buyer will find it but it may take time
  14. Brilliant!! a result finally :)
  15. Jeez not again - sorry all, thought we had sorted this particular Gremlin
  16. looking good and bids on it already - should sell no problem
  17. it did take me a bit but once I had seen one the others appeared - nice job :D
  18. The basic design has not changed that much in the grand scheme of things just tweaked for weight strength or improvement - the newer ones still collect gunk under rear arches as there is a lip so check there for bubbling - the paint is thin so look for excessive stone chips. The metal is thin so look for dents where someone may have leant something on the car and not been able to push it back out on the rear 3/4 area above the side windows for instance. The painted panels in the door cards have thin paint and scratch and wear from use - peoples hands / rings when opening and closing the door Paint damage on the top of rear bumper where stuff has been loaded / unloaded from boot space The main bearings can go so any dodgy noises walk away there is no turbo to worry about but check the service history to see if the belts have been changed, if not try and get that done as part of the deal
  19. Oh dear that does sound quite conclusive - as Savage posted once you have the code you can identify the appropriate diff
  20. Wotcha and welcome here is a Subaru buying guide http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/ the car looks fine from the description - Becky22 has one and had an issue but that was caused by a shoddy mechanic not reported anything else, IMO it would look better with a larger spoiler on the rear but that is something that could be sorted in time
  21. Pete has covered all the points I would make dont worry about the coolant colour just as long as it has some, you can always flush the system at a later date with a colour of your choice
  22. you could go direct, it is on this forum under Subaru in General - Subaru Tyres / Wheels & Suspension thread title Changing from Bridgestone's to Falken's
  23. Great to hear - keep us posted, but hopefully you have it sorted!!
  24. sorry - not I
