  1. I di it every time but to stretch it you could do every other time - Im not fussy about the diesel so will use supermarket stuff or standard BP shell etc, the product has all the additives and cleaners that you would find in shell nitro diesel The stuff I use is product number 2276 - BG DFC with Lubricity After having the service done I noticed an improvement in throttle response and reduced engine running temperature it dropped from an indicated 100 down to 82 :o the black sludge that was coming out of the exhaust is no longer there - there would also be better fuel economy for a slightly less spirited driver :D so the flush followed by the continued treatment has kept things clean
  2. I would agree with Tlags thoughts having read the description
  3. Thats great - keep us posted I would be interested in the grip vs wear rates against the bridgestones :)
  4. No rush - we're planning on going anywhere - its persisting it down by me so not the best for taking pkotos :)
  5. Im the same wrt to pairs across axles, discs, tyres, shocks etc
  6. yup what Gambit said is it worth posting a couple of shots of the holes in the lips?
  7. always useful to have penetrating oil and a blow torch on hand ;)
  8. It should be possible - I would have to get a look at the wiring diagrams though to confirm
  9. unfortunately I dont know about Subaru diesels but the expereinces I had with the DPF on my merc van were sorted when I had a service using BG products along side the regular oil change, the engine and pipework were all cleaned out the DPF cleaned out and now I use a bottle of the BG fuel additive in every tank of diesel - had no issues since
  10. Happy New Year and best wishes to all!!
  11. I didnt risk coming on last night as I was quite squiffy :) Keep us posted of the progress chum, would be great to see how this turns out
  12. It is a tidy finish - looks factory that!
  13. good site that not seen it before - very easy to navigate
  14. :D :D :D not heard that one v funny :D :D :D
  15. I like the idea of the top mounted oil cooler - that way the scoop is now functional - not just for looks :)
  16. You can set yourself up for - compared to your exiting setup - a lot less, it will save your alloys and as they are a lot thinner give you more grip. East Yorks does get a fair bit of bad weather so its probably down to your own opinion if you feel they are warranted in this country What you have at the moment is great anyway its just adding to it. I was considering some steel winter wheels with associated tyres, I was then going to paint them bright green or orange just for kicks :)
  17. ahhh I see that explains why I never saw any improvement even after I changed the fuel filter many times :)
  18. oooh Peter bog horror - only every used the ring road never had call to actually venture in
  19. There are a few sites out there where it appears some members sit like vultures waiting to pounce - which is a shame, if someone suggests putting sand in with the petrol to port the head whilst driving I know we have hit a real low :)
  20. A lot of info from Wagonwheels http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1842-newbie-saying-hello-and-pics/ and Farmerpug taking STI springs off to raise his vehicle http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/210-lifting-subaru-forester/
  21. Wotcha and welcome - plenty of info on the site and of course the members are happy to share opinions (not in a bad way) here is a buyers guide which should fill in some background anything else just post a question thread in the impreza section http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/1619-help-check-guide-buying-1st-subaru/
  22. In fact I did - and Gambit got it then as well - page 25 :)
