  1. Wotcha and welcome Daniel - I to am a recent convert and am thoroughly smitten Sounds like you have something that will satisfy your six star appetite until insurance becomes a little more than astronomical - there is a thread that recently covered some of our first cars and believe me what your driving is what I was aspiring to at your age ;) looking forward to the photos!!
  2. Yes it was longlife / cardiff exhausts I was thinking of http://www.longlifecaerphilly.co.uk/
  3. Have done some digging and all the references that I can find state 5x114 for the STI from 2005
  4. Jay762 replied to Chris1's topic in General Subaru Chat
Get a good set of pictures posted online - also it will be a longer term thing but start attending some classic car shows where potential collectors frequent
  5. at what point on the dyno trace is the boost coming in, is the boost constant throughout the run, what was the air fuel ratio at the flat spot, how did that compare to the rest of the trace?
  6. here it is http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=40_187&products_id=659
  7. Ill do some digging - I have quite a few links but cannot remember which one it was, oh dear best I browse some more Scooby performance shops again ;)
  8. There is a supplier that does half and half with their spoilers which I thought looked smart, the end support parts of the spoiler were colour coded and they left the wing part as exposed carbon
  9. well at least you got to compare the two back to back - all good now though ;)
  10. Wotcha and welcome - would be great to see some photo's it was the capri that formed my love of coupes
  11. Better see how long you would last - I was 24 hours http://uk.movies.yahoo.com/movie/world-war-z/would-you-survive-a-global-disaster-survival-survey/ 73.3% on this one http://zomboid.com/zombie/
  12. Just as long as there are no ruffled feathers along the way dont want to be faced with this at the end of a journey :D
  13. Wotcha and welcome Steve - we do have some examples in the for sale section that may be of interest
  14. Excellent thanks Adam Is this pertinent to EJ20 and EJ25or just EJ20?
  15. This has stemmed from another thread - thought I would start a separate discussion though. Is overheating and subsequent failure on No.4 cylinder a common issue on EJ20 or EJ25 engines and if so how would it be prevented on: a. standard open engine blocks b. semi closed engine blocks c. closed engine blocks - although I am assuming it does not affect the closed blocks at all
  16. Makes the rims look even bigger!!!
  17. looks like an impreza from the side - with smaller wheel arches though :P on a serious note, as with a lot of sporty cars, the ridiculous front number plate law in this country does spoil the effect somewhat
  18. Milltek is my personal fave - certainly a nice piece of kit!!
  19. If you go for a rebuild instead of a replacement you know that you have a good unit back in the car - having a bunch of people to help you is a great way to do it as you will learn all about your engine If its a real option go for the rebuild - overall it will probably work out more expensive than an unknown second hand unit but you will have something box fresh
  20. As Gambit says the change to a standard engine is not that significant - you will probably get more noise dependant on type but you could get improvements by increasing the size of the induction channel on the other side of the filter and retain the standard airbox but with a hi flow panel instead of stock
  21. Wotcha and welcome Jon - sorry to hear you have some initial problems, is there any chance of some money back from the place you got it? If not you could look at a replacement engine / engine rebuild or possibly breaking the car to recoup some of the outlay
  22. When it comes to cam belts I am with the pot noodle option + peace of mind
