  1. Wotcha and welcome - I have seen good an bad reports - make sure the fit is good and be prepared to tcut your car as the rest of the car will fade, why not use a clear plastic vinyl instead?
  2. if your running 500BHP that might make it a bit toasty under the hood. if you strip a load of unwanted stuff out to allow air flow, coat the turbo with a ceramic coating or lag it effectively these could compensate for the direct air flow ducted in - you may find there is an issue with getting heat out so might need some louvres in the bonnet
  3. Potential - a true sleeper, this one will scrub up alright!!
  4. Wotcha and welcome - that looks a tidy example I'll bet it was a massive difference going from a Punto to your wagon! Dont think you'll have too many problems bring that to your desired spec. loads of things you could do dependant on what you fancy - my 2p, look at the brakes, get some braided hoses + possibly different calipers and discs to give better feel / bite and a good service, have the injectors cleaned decent panel filter and check when the fuel filter was last changed. You could look at an ECU remap as the standard cars will be set up for economy and emissions so a revised fuel map even on a standard filter and exhaust should give improved lower down torque making the car feel more responsive
  5. Used my chap for years - he is pretty pragmatic about things like this so Im optimistic it will be ok
  6. so in theory fitting an after market steering wheel which does not have an air bag will mean the car fails its MOT if the original has one and any car with a decat pipe fitted will be a fail also. I will enjoy checking the electronic speed limiter of 156mph I believe it is and speedo all operate correctly jeez Id better sort the towbar on my van - i disconnected the indicator buzzer with a view to fitting a dash light - just haven't got around to it yet - that will now be a fail
  7. sorry - I couldn't narrow it down to just one - Im greedy
  8. I subscribe to that train of thought, particularly with performance equipment I like to know that everything is put together right before I start pushing it on spirited jaunts out
  9. and then you could get some money be reselling the redundant ecu
  10. I didnt realise that was the case as have already changed mine for LED bright white sidelights - will check when MOT is and see if they go through, will keep you posted... will get one of those red LED's also as I like the matching clear rear lens - cheers
  11. like the cardigans track, - I have a very eclectic taste from steps to slipknot so driving around at the moment Royal Republic is in the changer a favourite is this... if Im looking to line up a nice set of twisties I head for a bit of Skin If Im looking for points I go old school thrash
  12. Sounds like you have something special there - 4 years to find, I hope it lives up to its expectations.
  13. Thats true particularly with those fog horns you have fitted.
  14. Piggy backing ecu's does give some more flexibility but it can lead to fluffyness lower down the rev range because the second ECU is trying to fool the first and you get a delay in the signal flow albeit micro / nano seconds but it impacts fuel delivery. Sometimes these things show up on the dyno but when driving you dont really notice it. Remapping the OEM ECU is more common place now - I dont know about the older ones but if the coding is the same there shouldn't be an issue, next thing would be if a base map is available to start with, if not they would be starting from scratch which would bump the cost up a bit but because the EJ20 and EJ25 configurations have been around for a while there should be plenty of info.
  15. That was just the car scared you were going to hit someone so felt it needed to let people see you coming
  16. I always wanted a crackerjack pencil
  17. its a pity the films were not a patch on the cartoon
  18. Wotcha and welcome, any friend of Scooby Pete's etc
  19. As Gambit said it is what club, user name and date joined - then obviously if they need to validate they can check you profile on line and it will reflect that http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/user/526-markscooby1967/
  20. I purchased this kit so the fluid and clay bars are in one box http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_253057_langId_-1_categoryId_255233
  21. I used one on mine - dead easy to use no scratches and it is amazing just how much comes off the car after you have washed it.
  22. Wotcha and welcome Tom
  23. Did you replace the bulb or paint it for the clear unit?
