  1. Wotcha and welcome Rhys :)
  2. I like it - would probably split mine in two and have the one part with the address on the back of the car and the logo on each side
  3. That sounds like a plan!!
  4. I spend money on parts with two things in mind - how will I be using it and will it give me peace of mind There is nothing wrong with halfords and europarts kit and they do the job for a lot of people however you do own a particularly choice piece of kit (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/subaru/impreza/used-subaru-impreza-p1-4wd-2dr-oldham-fpa-201142423014485) I believe Subaru quoted the P1 as having 280BHP which is not a small amount of power if things start to fail. I would get a quote from a main dealer for the belt and kit then compare to a reputable scooby spares dealer who specialise in these engines. but for me I would spend £155 and go for a kevlar reinforced item from cosworth - but then I would get peace of mind Just Subaru - Revolution service parts link - belt at £99 http://www.just-subaru.com/servicing-parts-classic-69085-0.html scooby world kit http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=47_292&products_id=2042 Cosworth belt http://lateralperformance.co.uk/product.php/190/90/cosworth_kevlar_timing_belt
  5. Wotcha and welcome :) The type of belt you go for will obviously impact that as well - eg cosworth kevlar one is more expensive than your bog standard item
  6. yup looking good - those rims do set it off
  7. My mum loves her civic - she has got the 2.0 vti version, to be fair it looks like yours but with alloys and a spoiler so you could probably do some mods at a modest price from some salvage places. Its a lot of car for a low price
  8. What you mean that's not you in the photo!!!  ;)
  9. ^ :D :D :D :D :D :D ^
  10. Classy - smart yet casual
  11. Wotcha and welcome :)
  12. Wotcha and welcome :)
  13. You could and again lovely piece of kit I have heard the service intervals are horrendously short and include things like laser alignment of all wheels every-time etc - obviously its the price you pay for such a highly engineered machine so it would mean looking at total cost of ownership of both would be nice to be given the choice though ;)
  14. As above plus dependant on the service history you may want to consider a service with a flush - at 70k had my diesel van done using BG products flush and now run with their oil additive in with the fresh oil, it cleaned all the deposits out quietened it right down and the engine ran 15 degrees cooler.
  15. Very nice, great colour!
  16. Wotcha and welcome David :)
  17. Wotcha and welcome :)
  18. That is a really clean car - and you do indeed have a tough choice to make but what would you gain, exclusivity is lower the ICE wont measure up to the 3K build you have... if it was me I would hold on to the RB until I had enough to get a Cosworth - and then swop the ICE across :D

Watch it on the box, always fancied attending a rally school just a case of prioritising it
  20. it was oil starvation to the turbo that did it, even though I kept being told it was my driving (predominantly motorway miles) caused by blocked tubes. but I know what to look for now ;)
  21. ditto - fully synthetic 10W-50 - ensure it has a JASO or API standard conformance and you should be fine. My Subaru manual gives quite a range of choice 1.5lt - 2.0lt 10W-30, 10W-40, 10W-50, 5W-30, 0W-20 - with a recommendation of the 0W-20 - however I was advised that would be too light as when the engine is stopped it all runs straight to the sump any residual cooling effect is lost and on start up there is little in the way of lubrication. 2.5lt turbo 10W-30, 10W-40, 10W-50, 5W-30 - with a recommendation for 5W-30
  22. Very nice - like that, ever since 1st turbo experience with the 200sx years ago and getting stiffed from an alleged reputable tuner expert oil temp, pressure and turbo boost monitoring I believe are pretty essential. Went through x3 turbo rebuilds inside a year each one with a 360 degree thrust bearing, not cheap at the time but hey you pay to learn
  23. Wotcha and welcome :) - what are you driving, got any photo's??
  24. Like the idea of going from blue to red with the lights to match the dash would look great - now added to the ever increasing list
  25. I'm looking at putting some gauges - particularly oil pressure and temp but wouldn't want the noise on start-up, that's when I'm listening for rattles etc
