  1. Block and heads have been dispatched for build ๐Ÿ™‚ Turbo reassembled
  2. Parts back from coating, should help with heat.
  3. ICP are a good alternative to main stealers prices https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts?cat=96&sub=3018&sec=3019&var=39&dc=y
  4. I agree - engine and transmission is awesome, very safe motor to be in - I ended up here after going to buy the missus an Audi A3 - turned up in my van long story short it was like re enacting the shopping scene from pretty woman. Then researched EVO and Impreza spoke to a friend who had owned both - Impreza easier to live with day to day found Subaru did a hatch, that was all she wrote. Now take great joy in spanking A3's - although the new ones with some tuning are getting a bit more fiesty
  5. Is that full size or space saver?
  6. If you do not get this whilst reversing in a straight line it is def the 'twist' in the axles and diffs - I get it on my hatches even on the NA RX model due to the AWD setup. Its not your diff fluid temp. It does mention it in the manual somewhere - If I remember rightly
  7. Bearings, oil leaks, dpf - Google returns several common complaints
  8. Hi Subaru do not make a decent diesel unit - much as I love the brand, earlier model issues now appear to be replaced by later model issues of a different type.
  9. Try this option https://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=14419&cat=96&sub=457&sec=476&var=31&dc=0&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart=
  10. Ok that rules the tyres out, when you pull into your parking spot is it a tight turn?
  11. It is normal to get that when doing slow speed turns its the differences in the AWD system correcting itself - mentions it in the manual, not had it when reversing though, are x2 of your tyres more worn than the other x2 front or rear giving a difference in rolling radius?
  12. It is as you say there are polar opposites on experience, whilst I have not owned many Subarus, in comparison to some, I have had x2 different experiences. First owned a standard STI - no issues what so ever, was maintained slightly ahead of the manual with more regular oil changes and it never missed a beat, used in all weathers but cleaned regularly and had no rust when sold. Next was an RX so NA engine had for some time used as a daily in all weathers, maintained with more regular oil changes and cleaned regularly - no issues and now with the inlaws still going strong. Reading about engine failures etc For my next STI I went for a specialist 'built' motor to avoid the potential issues with ringland failure - within 1000 miles of my ownership I caught a gasket failure before it had chance to do any further damage - going through the car I found a lot more issues due to rubbish / shoddy workmanship. Another STI on the drive, higher mileage engine had rebuilt using uprated gasket and bolts but standard internals, so far so good - some issues with rust on this one but it is being managed. The outback owners would not necessarily be thrashing the living daylights out of their cars but an owner may not be as diligent on the maintenance schedule. Look for an example with a history and if see if you can get it on a ramp to check the underside (Beware of underseal it can be there to hide as well as protect)
  13. Wotcha and welcome - worth hanging on for the right motor for you. Keep us posted on your progress and feel free to post, all friendly on here
  14. some on ebay currently - used not recon
  15. Just had a look on ebay UK and they quote ยฃ91 to Kenya - Please note I have not checked that this part fits your vehicle https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185260109533?fits=Car+Make%3ASubaru&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2b225ceedd:g:CfMAAOSwAeFh5XUW&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACwPYe5NmHp%2B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS7UXID%2BRPOSNsnm8kYPghtI75F7W4%2F2K5gcJeqcG8bHQjiwbBj6uj5sQ9UU%2BgkAbTunPwGwYOPbrpk0BNv46V%2B%2BDwEZj7m55ysHn9YLH2%2FBpic%2BdrxE5Aru9iswyWQQc31kVjwFJ97TTDxgH%2BG2Yf0G8v1%2Fvj3ueTvXoN34iWB6kbdhG%2FVb2zTHPEQ59DGDIR%2F4JRldebIt2%2BIBMov8ndMAg%2BTrWp46e44P3GZvlfjMYox0ZOcrDgVZjrguni8wNAWZeWqEA6ZHOBFksj3EyIUM9o2lF21JhdFMGZsvQgaIuRM8fwe4w35UNU3Yi0%2F%2Bz0PRZWkKsDP3qnF5XBnFjvxGQg0gh4gvmxooFb4Q%2Fdc59h0eT3QMpuJDr7j4OWs11Zkc%2BCcq54qsp8u7NWTYySNhwHpIbmhTYzHEmw1aiRfh04TgHWuwzepJA6VmOenii0MJu2EtQmVam8wLvzcQvwVdbg%2Bdyx2RAWRWSaLhs3vscFdXjxpHoyk4jXAtsHG89VloYz5uMnamsYMlLLGAygKhs5GelAdczC8xrohH7JaekUSVopvkWkj3bT%2Fd4rZsjcFZL39QbPkvOeDVanAEjbjR7XjXmJOKYld8Gt2OU2n3M5rXzcZA%2BS6NVhEUbTtaz%2BToYM7udFcOjA8FMRqop7UV2zMQwcEhZ9vNbGoMGjrwJC7fKJnJxM8E4dsix7E9x9s5htupjks0B2xqm1AFonO%2Bnx29rYvZ9CxrUHQi%2FIbCyvheP3ghXcZmxlU2HFWF8owxRcYzkxOWS5QDeevNfCpZnevZzC%2BVQ%2BNbHUCkBV%2BoBLII27cqKz1LmaQg2HeHLOU5hkxKmrgISTsm6SqeOj%2BdJdlhL0pBAUE0qkxgvpjRx%2B8vKDBc%2BWLn9ONMVl%2F4Dn|clp%3A2334524|tkp%3ABFBMgKLg6s5f&shqty=1&isGTR=1#shId
  16. Didnt see this post until you added to it..... The 2021 Outback has a pcd of 114.3 x5 with a centre bore of 56.1 which is pretty common on subaru models eg 2008 - 2013 wrx sti impreza. These cars also come with a space saver so that could fit in your boot space. I have not been near a 2022 outback so cannot confirm however when you take delivery a quick session with a tape measure get you on the right track
  17. This thread shares info that the task can be achieved without the engine being removed
  18. Wotcha and welcome, feel free to share photos etc all friendly on here ๐Ÿ‘
  19. Those blurred out diagrams become available as a purchase I only see x2 diagrams top one clear bottom one blurred I am not sure the head unit will work with those switches - I had that unit in my RX and we could not get the phone to connect to it and work other than playing audio through the RCA jack. The steering wheel controls worked for channels volume etc though. Ill have a look in the manual this weekend see if there is any further info on phone specific modules, I know there is an Ipod one and a multi cd player one
  20. A car I bought had a different brand fitted - It did not work, oil from the breather lines still found its way to the intake. I would invest in some catch tanks and set up a vent to atmosphere system, the tanks can be had relatively cheaply on their own from ebay etc
  21. If you have some photos of the unit and the existing wiring that might be useful
