  1. feel free to start a build / project thread to track your progress. Dependent on your driving style you will find the RX soft with excessive roll. consider suspension and ARB upgrade. I also found the brakes give great feel but they do fade on a spirited drive
  2. It depends on the part number, they do vary - for example the WRX S has the R180 rear diff the same as the STI but others have have an R160. Also dependent on rear diff also means a potentially different diff in the gearbox.
  3. Hi - There is a cars for sale section I suggest creating a thread there with details, photos and a price
  4. Good chance its the driveshafts unwinding and nothing to worry about - If you have cyclic clicking when driving forward that will be a cv joint - grinding is a bearing or brake dragging / worn pad
  5. Wotcha and welcome - the GX is an older impreza but with the same NA engine configuration you have. your model series RX 2.0 Normally aspirated engine WRX 2.5 turbo engine, stiffer springs and thicker ARB's WRX STI 2.5 turbo engine, more power, bigger hubs, turbo, intercooler, different body (Wide) compared to RX / WRX
  6. I might have someone who has one he may be selling - was discussing it with him last week. Ill let him know you are looking
  7. If it is the hard line / pipe from the brake master cylinder to the flexible pipes I shared earlier I would go to a dealer to get a reference number or look for someone breaking / part out a wrx
  8. Unfortunately not ☹️ - found some out and it was not amongst them.... Will continue the search this weekend
  9. Ignore my previous answers.....Just seen your location, try these 🙂 https://www.ebay.com/itm/300938083023?epid=1217829100&hash=item46114ebacf:g:s-oAAOSwlMxh16E6
  10. Fuji racing option, slightly cheaper but I have not used this product although I have other fuji racing branded parts. Select Impreza GD/GG 00-07 https://www.fujiracing.com/product/brake-line-kit/
  11. Here is the HEL option, running their product on my motors They do have sales and offer discount codes every so often if you are prepared to wait....The ones I had have expired unfortunately https://auto.helperformance.com/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-2001-2007-braided-brake-lines
  12. 😁 - soooo guilty of this if you are looking at replacing the fluid I would check for leaks on the rack itself, there are rubber o rings in each of the connections - They may well be as hard as the one you previously replaced
  13. Great to hear - always better when expectations are exceeded 🙂
  14. Great job, let me know if you would like this thread moved to the Project / build thread section 👍
  15. For this piece I dont think you will notice a difference - on my slightly later model I did not notice a change at all but I am running a noisier exhaust. When you start looking at the engine mounts and gearbox / rear diff supports, things that take the weight of the units then you will see a change. I went for group N engine and gearbox mounts as a compromise. I did look at the solid engine mounts but the online feedback was it is just too much if used as a daily driver
  16. I would agree with that - cover your tolerances for a range of products helps with manufacturing efficiency etc. Unfortunately pretty standard practice in that industry - more about avoiding a payout
  17. You could get some shock socks, neoprene and velcro wraps, for them - then they will not be green
  18. I had seen this discussion in relation to little 'eco' cars (smart cars colts etc) that are running light / thinner alloy wheels but not on normal size vehicles You could in theory have a passenger load in an XV which could exceed the weight of an outback so for that reason I would have thought the manufacturing tolerance of the wheels would be similar. I have always been more concerned on wheel repairs, powder coating etc which if the incorrect heat cycle is applied the structure of the alloy changes and it makes it brittle
  19. Brakes tend to be a higher pitched clang metallic ting does sound like it could be suspension (check top mounts as well) or a link somewhere
  20. I have amended it based on your feedback
  21. I cannot speak from personal experience however 4 of the drivers I know all went with the Tein option and are really happy with them
  22. It looks familiar - Pretty sure I remember sending mine off for powder coating - ill check my pile of bits as it should have a label attached
  23. Welcome - Most cars will benefit from a high flowing panel filter and exhaust system with an associated map. The engine will then be running at its optimum and not have all the compromises teh manufacturers are forced to adopt. Many have seen fuel improvements of a 2-4mpg plus gains in the. midrange
