  6. Welcome. As far as model goes. Do you want balls out performance or more comfort?
  7. Sc36 will do well. Hawk wrx was 500iirc so guess there the same
  8. Popped up to clinic today top drop the mrs car off and check up on mine and how things are looking for next week. Found a few more bits that were worn out, inlet pipe is fooked so a new perrin one is going on, valve shims and buckets all had to be replaced so now got a set of supertech buckets and shims. But end result is good news, heads are built and attached onto block, final checks on them to make sure all good and then cam covers will go on and rest of the engine can be assembled. nice repainted inlet manifold and then a rats nest of wires to go back on lol Gearbox is done (5th gear syncro was worn) and ready to go back in, cars booked into the main workshop to have the engine and box fitted tuesday, few other bits and bobs before going off for mot and all being well next sat will be the day :D warning, kid at christmas mode on!!!!!!! hahahaha
  9. problem is still the crap standard engine though
  10. bad news indeed :( but tell him not too loose heart over it, my engine went after 3k miles and that was after it had been given a full health check over straight after i bought it.
  11. not as big as expected tbh, but writing was on the wall. shall be interesting to see what it does when its back, run in and mapped up
  12. Came across the origional graphs so thought i'd post them up. this was the day i picked it up and it had gone straight up for a check over, then after the syvecs, manifold, decat etc and to compare, was some gain in spool and peak but considerably lower than expected given the mods. and then the dreaded was found
  13. Well a mate of mine would disagree, his didn't even get it fully run in before it spat its crank.
  14. If being left stood i'd invest in a battery conditioner, batterys dont like constant charge flat charge flat, i used to get through one a year when i was hardley using mine. Could well be the battery is now nackered, take it off and run it down to local battery place, they normaly test em for free. Just leave one of these connected and your battery charging trouble are sorted. http://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-4-Step-Battery-Charger-Conditioner/dp/B00JMJHZ4E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1442230736&sr=8-2&keywords=battery+conditioner
  15. I tend to find different tyre brands prefer different pressures as well.
  16. with a 2.5 if the headgaskets go, you must do the crank bearings as well. clinic just finished rebuilding a hatch engine for someone who the previous company didn't and before it was even run in crank bearings failed.
  17. You can get full track exhaust systems that are designed to be free flowing but keep noise levels down. Got a cobra system on my car and my old hawk and isn't restrictive at all
  18. Welcome. rear arches go from the inside out, so is a pretty big job.
  19. http://www.scoobynet.com/car-parts-for-sale-437/1029367-hel-performance-blue-braided-brake-lines-to-clear.html assuming there the right fitment ;)
  20. Hate to say it but its buyer beware unless you can prove they knowingly sold you a duffer. On the flip side you could have gone otu and thrashed it blowing it up. Not saying that's the case at all, i'm just saying how he would counter argue. will prob be in the 2-3k mark :(
