  1. rear wiper is a dead give away for an import
  2. v3 sti from the title so would be ok as long as a bit of mechanical sympathy given, gearbox would be on borrowed time though
  3. piston ring 3 times in 400 miles? soimething seriously wrong with that then
  4. although totlay different car, this is what a jap vin number looks like vin is just a number, not a 16 digit code
  5. Scoobyclinic up at chesterfield are top notch, mr syvecs himself pat herbron is based there and does alot of their mapping
  6. Uk/european car. Can tell cos jap cars have a 7 digit number for the vin instead of 16 digit cide
  7. Don't skimp on cheap mapping. Easiest way to cost you an engine
  8. fumes are drawn through a fluid that changes colour if exhaust gases are present. Different car so different tank location, but exactly the same test
  9. pressure test will tell you bob all about HG mate, you need a sniff test done to find that out

pretty sure its the front one of these two, not sure whos it is now, i'll ask :D
  15. doubtfull you'll max the injectors on a vf28 so i wouldn't worry about it. my 28 needs replacing before its mapped, seals are going and now and again it kicks out odd blue smoke.

  19. just to add it varies from car year to car year, also anti lag and launch control are cost options, not that you need em on a road car anyway
  20. Dont think you can get maps zen anymore can you? thought paul had gone to work for ecutek?
  21. yeah was great, for the 4 hours i had a working car on the island,,,,, hahahahahahaha nah really nice place, friendly people and we had some cracking weather. given the changes to the ring now i'd rather go back to the isle of man myself
  22. tends to work out a bit more than an ecutek, but the added benefits it brings are worth the extra imo. Can take a couple of visits to the mapper to sort out cold start (uinless you leave it with em for a couple of days) but once thats sorted then all good.
  23. I use scoobyclinic for all my work based out at chesterfield, Pat Herborn does their ecutek and syvecs mapping and they have an internal guy to do Alcatek.
