  1. Lid not on properly, not sealing or prv not working would be my guess! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi guys, noticed this morning to work my oil pressure has increased somewhat in the last couple of days and I'm slightly concerned..... Anything over 2k it tops out at 75psi when hot where as before it would be 50-55psi at 2k and be 70psi at 3k. Any ideas on the likely cause? Still runs the same, but I 'think' I can smell hot oil inside at idle stationary when warm. I say think because there's no visible leaks and I can't smell it under the bonnet. Any ideas or help greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. As Steve said wont work unless in the headlight with the Earth connection, pop them in make sure they've got an earth and give it another go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Have you put them in the headlight or tested before refitting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I get about 280 miles to where I'm about 1/4 tank and it costs between 38-40 quid to fill, that was twice a week nearly. That's with a k&n panel, pro drive y pipe and back box, deres centre pipe, 2nd decat and a remap. Tuning these cars saves you money! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. A bug would make a more practical family car whilst still being plenty quick enough for fun. You should find something half reasonable for that price but i would image it would need some work. I've got a new age that I was doing 400 miles a week in, and it is a fantastic all rounder. Any classic you are looking at now will be at least 16 years old, and they can rust (but so can a bug). Plus the new age ones have slightly longer gearing and a bit more refined so aren't quite as thirsty. Drive a couple and buy the best you can at that price range! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What is it you want from the car? Will it be a daily or a toy? Does it need to be sensible or is it just for fun? What is your budget, what power do you want and why? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Upgrade!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I check my oil every fortnight and was doing 400 miles a week (til I handed my notice in last week but that's another story), and in 4.5k I used nothing noticeable Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Heater matrix maybe? Any other running problems, holds temp fine, oil clear and no signs of head gasket failure? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Ape-**** racing. When the going gets tough, the tough go Ape-**** [emoji16][emoji85] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Killer gorilla performance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. After my clutch pedal starting to sound like a breying donkey yesterday I've given it a healthy squirt of gt85 which seems to have cured it for now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. The only thing that's blown up with my turbo so far in 9 months is my tesco clubcard balance doing 400 miles a week on momentum.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Head gasket? Some !Removed! sealant product used in the system? Incompatible coolant without flushing properly? What does it smell like? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. You could get something very good for 6-9k, I spent 5k on an honest but not perfect 60k blob wrx from a dealer nearly a year ago but prices seem to be creeping up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I used toothpaste a sponge and a bit of elbow grease, came up a treat! I think it needs to be a bit gritty to cut through the oxidisation but essentially any sort of medium fine polishing compound should work really Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I used toothpaste on my blob ones that were misty and yellowing.... Good as new and as it was the leftovers from the tube didn't even get a kicking from the missus, result!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Done a quick Google and the development story seems pretty crazy (Canadian scientists and zero emissions goal), and claims to be a super refined fuel. Does it work? No idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Pulled up at a roundabout and heard a horrendous knocking noise and my heart sunk [emoji22] Turns out it was roadworks and my paranoia knows no bounds. On the plus side I washed the old girl today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'm always a bit dubious of these products, another one that's common is seafoam. They look pretty theatrical when on YouTube used if nothing else! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. My first car was a mini ( 1987 mini advantage 1.0) and the rest (not in any particular order): I've had most of the ford range, 4 fiestas (inc 3 XR2is), 4 escorts (inc 2 cabbys), a couple of sierras, a focus, puma and a sportka; a 1990 gen 5 celica GTi, vw lupo, an AX GT (fantastic and terrifying at the same time) and a Saxo VTR, a Nissan micra, and now a 2003 WRX. Most have been modified to some extent, except the micra (11 plate, not the funky bubble ones), that was just soul destroying. I've probably forgotten a couple too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. And if you believe in zombies they're great for escaping from them too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. They're better than a micro and fit a lot of shopping in the boot [emoji6] Active safety is great due to the good handling and grip, and the passive safety is good due to the strong passenger cell. If you love your child you actually need a Subaru...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I use my blob day in, day out 400 miles a week in all weathers. In 9000 miles all I've needed is a puncture repair and headlight bulb! I had an oil change after 5k and I'll get it booked in again next month for a service and mot. It's easy to live with, doesn't cost the earth and puts a smile on my face :-) . Running gear wise there isn't anything majorly different between the new age and classic as far as maintenance goes, older engines more susceptible to piston slap but this was improved (not necessarily cured) on later models. Classics are meant to be more raw, new age is slightly softer but great for usability. Bugs seem increasingly rare too and have a marmite look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
