  1. yeah i have the new one, only comes with 1 reverse light and 1 fog light. fog lights insanely bright but the reverse is a waste of time and on the passenger side thanks for the help guys ill check out the bulbs jay suggested
  2. Nice one thanks mate
  3. I haven't tried anything yet thought would ask first. Would any led with the same fitting work?
  4. Hi please can someone shed some light, does anyone know a way to make the reverse light on an Impreza hatch brighter or if another can be fitted? Problem I'm having is it sucks, I would be better off hanging out the window with a torch it lights that little and can't see a thing behind me. Hoping there's a brighter replacement out there or I'll have to fit some extra lights to the body work any help or ideas are appreciated. Thanks
  5. Got a halfords trade card today, then spent the afternoon where I Left off. Cleaned up the alternator and connections properly, cleaned up all the chrome trim and black plastic work . And of course a darth Vader air freshener.
  6. thanks mate, @aucky i watched a youtube video and went to it tbh lol. autoglyms engine cleaner, a brush was doing nothing to mine, i use the centre bits of the old school floor cleaners, bit like a scouring pad but come in a few different grains, then hosed off before it dried up, it was drying very fast so had to do it a couple of times quickly then concentrate on areas. used a paintbrush on everything plastic or rubber. then sprayed down with autoglym vinyl protect, that stuffs ok at best prefer meguiars black trim stuff. the only problem with the engine cleaner was the bottle sucks, spray handles not strong enough. and contact cleaner to go round cleaning alternator and its connections after. got alot more to do on it. spent around 1 hour or more putting clingfilm on all the electric connections and parts that i could find. all the youtube videos show you nice small engines that are neat with very few electrics or other bits. pain in the backside but worth it. tried first time doing it by hand so i didnt need to hose it down, didnt even touch the surface.
  7. now thats a crackin excuse to get out and play. was debating doing it for a few weeks, came back from brighton it was full of sand aswell as the gunk, next need to do air filter badly, oil and filter. gonna take a stab at spark plugs too if i can ever find the right ones, getting mixed messages from websites.
  8. spent a few hours the other day cleaning out the engine bay, whole thing was coated in thick black gunk was well chuffed when it came out that clean. couple hours a day since trying to get in all the awkward gaps and cleaning it off the electrical connectors aswell. dont think any previous owners did out with this car. sadly didnt take a before pic, there was no silver anywhere. dropped my socket under the engine, still havent found it lol.

i use shell vpower in my 2.0 non turbo, runs nice and smooth with better mpg. recommends 95 but its lumpy and hesitiates so i dont use it. despises sainsburys unleaded and superunleaded.
  10. i use simonez shampoo and carnabu wax, it does a decent job of getting the bits off and sudding up thick, then other than that all waxes and polishes etc are meguirs havent had any problems with them so will stick to them. the plastic restorer takes a few coats but turns all the worn out grey trims black and smooth again. havent used a great deal of other makers products, tried some autoglym, engine cleaner, tar remover, plastic restorer, all rubbish for me even their snow foam shampoo was a let down at its price. wheel cleaner was well and truly beaten by a cheap one i found in a matalan. hoping to come accross more as didnt get the name.
  11. sorry to jump in on the post but is there any manuals for the hatchbacks? found the latest one but it was pretty vague on what was actually included
  12. !Removed! irritating isnt it. sadly i liked the car too much to walk away when bought it from subaru they said it was fine and no movement, checked by their technician apparently. i saw somewhere online saying there was a fix by changing the bolt type inside the mirror but subaru cambridge told me it there was no such thing.
  13. ill do it tomorrow, but its quite shallow. lots of space with it removed and seats folded down though. which model are you looking at? love the car just wish i had the cash and low enough insurance for the 2.5.
  14. which cleaner are you using? i put redex through and it made no improvement and i noticed the hesitation more with it. might just be me though only had the car since feb. going to get a full service and new plugs etc in next couple month see what happens then
  15. My 2010 Impreza 2.0rx does that at the same rev range, anything over 3500 is spot on. Found changing to super unleaded stopped that problem but don't know what causes it. Subaru recommends normal unleaded for my car but it seems to respond and perform better and smoother on super
  16. welcome, very friendly and helpful people here. helped me out with any questions i had
  17. Are they the standard silver? Look darker than mine, !Removed! Audi took up the road and stopped dead on narrowest bit. so ripped an alloy to bits. Not a happy bunny lol
  18. search for subaru impreza hatchback parts it brings up a couple that are getting broken down. might be the same seller
  19. are all imprezas 10 gallon? my handbook says 60 litre. but can only get 54.6 in even with needle completely on the bottom and the range showing ---. bit of a sod when it says you have 20miles to go then randomly disappears as you pull onto the motorway lol
  20. Completely standard 2.0 Impreza hatchback, surely can't have similar mpg to some of the cars here? Traffic jams I saw it go to 11mpg :( round the doors 27mpg Running it round backroads 23mpg. Driving to London at 70 on cruise control 36mpg. 363 miles to that tank. But find the computer is about 3mpg higher than it is everytime.
  21. Thanks look forward to seeing them
  22. Put the car to bed, went out to get a steak ended up doing a 50 mile drive about the county instead. Great fun gonna end up on first name terms with the local petrol station staff
  23. Nice looks easy to change aswell, haven't had much Experiance with working on cars though pretty sure that's obvious lol but keen to get started. What was it like before you removed the mid silencer? How loud is it? Drive to London in it so 4 hours on a motorway love a good noise but don't wanna go overkill
  24. ill take a look cheers. just think it needs a bit of a growl to it and a bit more low end pull. ill send some emails out and see what some of the sites say about fitment or other parts.
  25. Ok cool I'll get a filter ordered just gotta pick between pro r and k&n. Had a look for exhaust but all the parts I can find are for wrx and sti not alota info on standard models. Same with suspension or braces etc thanks for the help I appreciate it
